Ouch! That\'s gotta suck! For a second there I thought he was gonna loose it on that turn.

That\'s why his brakes are worn out.:sarc

The brakes were already worn before I ever took it to the track. Anyways...I\'ll be in soon for my brake job. Pads finally arrived.

So this was what happened: :p

After about 1.5 hours of hard lapping, the tires were starting to melt. I apexed late and had to tap the brakes mid-corner, causing the tail to come out (almost lost it there). By countersteering and giving it a bit of gas, I managed to recover. I think the tire blew somewhere mid-turn, and for the rest of the lap the tail was pretty loose.

I pulled into the pit after the lap and realized my right rear tire was blown. Worse still - I didn\'t have the stock lugnuts on me so I wasn\'t able to use the spare. Domokun drove me to a nearby gas station where I bought a can of emergency tire sealant - and I managed to make it back to Toronto using that.

:D We go every month, although I much more prefer twice a month!!! The next time we go, I can\'t wait for me and you to try out the Progress sways!!

BTW, I think us Mazda3 boys should invest in some helmets the next time we go. We\'re really beginning to haul-ass on the track. ;)

A few questions:

1) how much modifications have you made to your Mazda? Lowered, rims, tired, engine mods? On the track, it looks FAST.

2) how did you mount the video camera in the vehicle? Is there a kit for it like AutoExe had for the night time outside shots (sticky plugs to the window), simply reversed?

3) have you taken race driving lessons?

4) where is Shannonville track? How long is your track day? How much does it cost?

I\'m asking these questions because I\'d like to participate one day... :D

Thanks! :D

1. I\'ve only done simple bolt on modifications: intake, exhaust, lighter rims, and spings. Still using stock tires.
2. I mounted the video camera with a custom mount I made that attaches to the headrest. I also have another \'bullit\' cam that can be attached anywhere outide of the car via sticky plugs.
3. Gran Turismo.
4. Shannonville is near Bellville, slightly past Trenton AFB. 150km away from Toronto. We usually track from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Track time is cheaper durring those hours, $45 to $60 depending on how many joined that day.
