Hmmm. By reading those links, it seems no one has *Polished* their car yet. Lots of people have waxed though.
I would suggest looking HERE (http://torontomazda3.com/forum/read.php?TID=5789)
You can contact him and ask for his advice.

they ship out of port colbourne (niagara, st.catherines area), so it takes like a day or 2 to arrive!
The Jar of wax is $38

From what I have found, most P21S products can be bought at most wheel and tire shops.

I\'ve polished my car and about 400 others. The products I use depend on the condition of the car and the results I want to achieve. Here are some questions that would help determine which products will work for you.

1) Are you working by hand or by machine?

2) What condition is your paint in. Be realistic, look at it under direct sun. Swirls? Scratches? Oxidation?

3) What are your expectations? Perfection, or a 5 foot car?

4) How much are you willing to spend?

5) How much time are you willing to invest?

Cheers.

I don\'t think I have come to the need of polishing my car yet. I wax it regularily, and my car, even after two years, looks as good as the day it left the showroom.

I finally got around to polishing my car today :) Excellent Results :D

Come see it at the meet June 24th (Tomorrow)

And to answer the questions:

1) Are you working by hand or by machine?
Working by hand. I always prefered cleaning/polishing/waxing by hand. You get all the little details.

2) What condition is your paint in. Be realistic, look at it under direct sun. Swirls? Scratches? Oxidation?
Fairly good condition. EXTREMELY minor swirls, a few scratches here and there. I didn\'t think oxidation was bad, but after the polish, I could see the difference.

3) What are your expectations? Perfection, or a 5 foot car?
My expectations were unknown. It was my first time polishing, so I didn\'t know what to expect. However I have been very happy with the results. Colour looks richer and the car shines like a mirror.

4) How much are you willing to spend?
I spent nearly $75 in buying everything I needed for the Meguires 3-step process. The polish alone was only $13.99 + tax at Canadian Tire. That $75 includes Meguires QuikClay, ScratchX, 3-Step bottle #2 (polish), NXT Car Wax and a cuple of applicator pads.

5) How much time are you willing to invest?
As much as I needed to do it right. I spent approximately one hour on polishing, but the entire 3-step process, from beginning of wash to end of wax toox about 4.5 hours.

When you say \'polishing\' are you refering to \'buffing\'? aka a la rotary buffer...or using a polish to increase shine?

As far as shine etc ideally the car should be clay barred and then buffed using a rotary buffer or similar tool. clay bar to remove bonded crap you don\'t even know is there... and buffing to reduce/remove scratches depending on how serious you are, and help level out irregularities. From the looks of it not many people here do much in the way of \'buffing\'. but adding the buffing ahead of ANY polish done by hand will yeild excellent results!

hahah just my 02.

And my car needs a serious polish... it looks like someone painted my scratched + swirled car white:p

I wonder if Picus is gonna have a end of season sale ;)

After years of using others, I only use Zaino products now. Head and shoulders above the rest.

Hey guys..... I have \"polished\" my car once or twice now... The product I use is a specialty aircraft wax with jewlers rouge (sp?) and it really works well with a polisher. Im not sure where to get this wax as I steal it from my old man...... The name is called ROLITE... and I use the standard electrice polisher. It does seem to make the car shine better than just a normal wax. I have put about three coats of wax under the rolite and not sure if that has made any difference. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Hey Sabio... The stuff is great! My old man has a G35 coupe and 06 Vette... Uses ROlite on both of them... so I decided it was safe for my 3 :D Awsome shine and durable enough for aircraft.... The only downside is that I think it is pretty expensive (not outrageous) but expensive....
