i have the light up ones and they were about ~45CAD shipped and after duties (i did a group buy so we had discounted shipping and all) the non lit ones were about 10bux less.. prepare to pay over 55CAD for one order from ebay..

Have you thought about removing the side mouldings? I was hesitiant to do it myself but since removing it, it makes the car look much cleaner. Loved it shaved. :)

Where have I been? I swear I never knew the hatches even had an open mouth grill and today is the first time I see not one, but 2 of them. Tsirpass has one too.

The whole car looks great, im on the fence about the grill though. Love everything else

It did. My heart was always set on this grille. I'm keeping my 07 grille for my winter set up. As much as I like the open mouth grille I think it's too fragile to go through one of our winters. I'm toying with adding a mazda emblem to the mesh to fill it in.

I'm haunted by that thought. I've had the car so long I'm affraid to pull it off and see slightly faded colour. I should have done it the first year I had the car. One of these days I'm going to get drunk and try it. I love the clean look myself.

This was a pain to install. Took me 3 hours. The grille comes with 5 bolts that fit into the holes already in the hood. If you have a hatch and remove the grille you will see holes that the OEM grille does not use. They are bigger. These are the holes the aftermarket grille uses. The only problem is that there are 6 and I was only able to use 5 of them. One of the holes I had to be redrilled bigger because it was off. I had to use rubber washers to make sure the grille fit tight against the bodywork and to provide a nice seal and all the bolts needed two washers because they were too long. I ended up installing a foam gasket against the bottom of the grille so that it wouldn't damage the stock bumper when it comes off for the winter.

The hardest part had to be extending the hood release. I'm still not happy with it so I'm going to do it again.

Thanks. I'm looking for a Mazda emblem right now to try out with the front grille. I have two right now. One is the same size as the wheel cap and that was too small. The other is the size or our rear emblems and that's too big. I'm thinking I need the flying "m" that the Protege hatch's have on their front grille.

I got the grille off of ebay. The ad should have a yellow coloured grille in the picture. Check with Supershyguy first though. He had one left. The one he's selling is cheaper than the ebay ad. The eyelids I bought off a member here and had repainted.

So I tracked down the "Flying M" emblem off a Protege5 Hatch and installed it. I like the Flying "M" logo and wanted to keep it on the car.
