Totally not possible, the guy must not know how to shift. I'm going to look up the stats of both cars right now.

Oh shit, I have to deal with enough of these threads on the SRT forums now I have see them here too :)
As one of the few people who has had both, all I can say is that:
1) I don't think there are any stock SRT-4's out there.
2) Current info indicates that the MS3 can be made faster on the stock turbo than the SRT-4 can on its stock turbo.

lol ull never excape the cliche man!
MS3
Weight: 3180lbs
BHP: 263
Torque: 280
Power to Weight: 12.1 lbs/bhp
0-60: 5.8
0-100: 14.8
1/4 mile: 14.4 @ 99mph
Skidpad 200ft: 0.87g
SRT-4 (2004-2005 model)
Weight: 2970lbs
BHP: 230
Torque: 245
Power to Weight: 12.9 lbs/bhp
0-60: 5.6
0-100: 13.8
1/4 mile: 14.2 @ 102mph
Skidpad 200ft: 0.85g
So by stats the SRT4 is faster. But we all know that the 3 has some technology preventing torque steer through the first 3 gears, which is essentially power reduction. The gearing may also be a little tall because the 3 carries almost a pound less per horsepower. So i dunno, in the end its the track that counts for me, and I'm sure the 3 would be better.
Possibly a set up so the select few loser SRT-4 peeps can feel good about themselves, again? ie. rent/borrow a speed3 and make the video

Does that make me a former "loser"?
I'm still friends with many from the Toronto SRT-4 scene, and I have to say, they are all great car enthusiasts, serious about their vehicles, and very hands-on with their cars. Overall a nice crowd.
As I said before, there are very few stock SRT's in the Toronto area. And many big-turbo SRT's out there. I'd be very hesitant about running any I come across at the moment......... But not for long :)
Its an interesting video and the stats on the car's make it pretty much a drivers race. To slaughter it that much who knows, but I wouldn't disregard it. I think if the Mazda 3 had a front mount instead of top, the SRT would be in for some trouble.
All in all the Mazda 3 has many more postive things to say about its interior and exterior straight off the production line. I cant say I ever liked the look of the SRT/NEON.

Also bear in mind that the numbers for the SRT4 are widely accepted to be conservative at best and grossly understated in most opinions. They're known to dyno near or 230 to the wheels, bone stock. So don't just look at the numbers.
Now watching the video... it's way too short to be conclusive in any way. But I wouldn't necessarily EXPECT to beat an SRT4 in a straight line with the MSP3.
Of course, every single other aspect of the MSP3 is worlds better than the SRT4 and that's a much better reason to choose one over the other.
I mean really... would you rather a Neon or a Mazda 3??
Incidentally... I talked to a Dodge rep at the autoshow and he said they were keeping hush-hush about the Caliber SRT4 because they were having difficulty actually getting 300 hp as they'd previously claimed they would.

Thus my including the specific indication of "few" in my post. Of course, I've never seen you on the streets when you drove your SRT-4 so I can't say if you were a jack-arse or not. http://www.fmvperformance.com/forum_items/Smileys/default/largesmile.gif
Damn, I've lost all privileges to CTA discounts now haven't I? LOL
