I kinda like it! Looks way better than a Yaris or Fit!

Saw one of these over in France recently. Quite nice for a little econobox :)

Not a new car (been out since 2002), but I think it would be a good idea to bring it over to give Honda and Toyota a lil competition!

it is cool looking, to small for my tastes, but i would like to see it here

edit: started posting b4 the interior shot . . .
i think that could be improved, wouldn't fly here

i rented a yaris for 2 weeks and the interior was just as gross

It's a great start though. At least bring it here to compete with the Yaris and Fit.... Hopefully they'll make some improvements on that interior.. I agree with Majic, it's TERRIBLE!

For the regular joe/jill driver, they won't care too much about the interior. Cheap car to take them from point A to point B is good enough. Mazda can bring in a bit of competition for the fugly Yaris and fugly Fit and those fugly domestic mini-econo-boxes.

The car that will form the basis of the new baby Ford for the US market will make it's first public appearance in Geneva this week, and we've got the official images from Mazda right here. The little machine has a style that fits right in with the current Mazda design language, including the prominent front fender curves and the lower body character line that sweeps up into the rear fenders. Engines for Europe include a trio of new gas engines of 1.3 and 1.5L displacements ranging from 75hp to 103hp. The two should be arriving on our shores sometime in 2008.

Looks like an awesome little car, if it makes it over here. For a second car for the family I would definately consider it over the small Toyota's/Nissan's etc.

Of all the B-spec cars, this one is definately the nicest to land on our shores.

now, these shots make it look a little better so i'll reserve my final judgment until i see it in person..

not feeling the nissan style steering wheel though.. we'll see what it's like when it arrives.. the potential is there though

Definitely looks better than the Fit, Versa, Yaris, Wave, Aveo and whatever other subcompact there is out there!

Yeah, definatelly (Fit = Ugliest/most overpriced POS I have ever seen; Yaris = Nice little car with tons of room, but overpriced when the necessitites of life get tacked on; Wave/Aveo = Meh Korean, rebranded as GM...Id stay away from both; Versa = Heavy overpriced POS, great if you like mini-mini Vans), I think I realized why I liked it from first sight....reminds me alot of the Peugeot's (206/207)

They really should start pumping out small-compacts that look/perform great for the $$$. I think even the Mazda3 is oversized if you live in Downtown Toronto, and if you are like some that were mentioned in the Winter Storm thread where your average travel to work is 1hr+ on a regular day and 4-5hrs when its a winter storm/ heavy rain during the rest of the seasons, I wouldn't think twice.

I think if they were to come out with a <1.6L/2.0L (out of the Mz3 ~ with 150hp, this thing would fly) Gas and an optional Diesel, they would sell like hotcakes!

Hehehe put a 2.3 DISI in that sucker and Mazda is back in the Rally game in no-time :P

I like the Green colour. They should offer that in the Mazda3 here.

Now will the Mazdaspeed3 engine fit in that thing?????? ;)

The 2 looks like it will eat a Yaris or Fit. Very sporty looking for such a small car but as I came to the realization, pictures can be misleading.

Just like the yaris and the fit, the center console makes the car look really cheap. Also, I really dislike the way that the shifter is part of the dash rather than in the middle... the civic does the same thing, and I think it just looks crappy!
