Hey, haven't gotten the car yet, just entered production status this week.
But I've got a '07 sport GT (no moon, no lux) Electric Blue :bana2
I hit up mazda3forums for a bit, but you guys are local to me (ktown) and look forward to the meet next month. Thought I'd invite myself, catching the better Canadian dollar group buys.
I promise lots of pic's when i get the car...I'm so excited to get it !!!

I thought it was the old Gizmo back with a new name.

But nonetheless, congrats to you to your new purchase.

This month and a half wait is killing me, and my wallet. I'm going to have a pile of parts in the garage. I'll drive it home and then hit it with the wrenches:bana

welcome, yes you will have piles and piles of mods between now and then. When you come to meets, it gets worse, as you get more ideas.

I've got 40 SMD leds for the cluster/console blue conversion, Chromium Angel eyes, Aluminum racing pedals, Prolumen HID's coming beginning next month.
TWM shortshifter if i can get on the group buy and looking around for the best price on a new grille. And a F2 intake on another group buy elsewhere. Oh, and seeing who makes a good LOC for my sub's.
Plan to get all that in for Apr29. Then round two for mods like you said:chuckle

Thats what I'm afraid of. Especially when I see the cars that are lowered....

Sean AKA Stryker ?!?!?!?! HOLY **** man, small world. Ya, I finished school now work full time at Queen's. HAHA the Jeep, still my daily driver until I pick up the car, just rolled 292k. Wanna buy it? I don't care for the maintenance and cost of it aging (not so gracefully anymore).

Sean80
03-15-2007, 06:16 PM
Your jeep is only half way through it's life lol. Mine was at 435,000 when we got rid of it last year. I still see the guy that we sold it to driving it around from time to time. Pretty funny, those things last forever. My brother has a 97 tj all done up tho, its fun to take that off roading in the summer. What are you doing at Queen's?

Work for a research group in Bio-Sci. I'm the elec engi/technical advisor. The engine is still good but the body is shot, floor is completely gone. I'm gonna be doin' a Fred Flintstone pretty soon.

Sean80
03-15-2007, 08:06 PM
Yeah our's did that too. We had to get new metal put in the floors and on the rocker panels, as well as new paint at about 300,000. It was worth it, we got another 4 or 5 years out of it after that. Sweet job by the way! I'm sure there is lots of nice scenery walking around bio-sci these days :p

Hey man, congrats on the car!!! Sounds like you will be doing a lot of mods...nice.

Here is a link to my 07 Electric Blue with a replica grill installed by Supershyguy (on these forums) which in my opinion looks really good (scroll to the bottom for the pics of the grill)

Looking forward to seeing all your mods!!!

Holy crap, over 100 posts in 3 weeks. Dang!! You do love your (soon to be) ride.

omg you have NO idea how bad I'm going to enjoy driving this car. I'm advancing 17 years in car technology.
I didn't care for a moon roof cause we had one on my parents Audi and it's just a toy to us, were partial to AC anyways. And luxury package wasn't enticing, rather just get aftermarket HID's :P.

3GFX
04-07-2007, 11:08 AM
No moonroof means less top heavy, means lower center of gravity, means better handling!!!!

monty0501
04-07-2007, 11:31 AM
Since you can get heated seats without leather, I didnt really care for the luxary package either....

wingnut12
04-08-2007, 07:28 PM
Out of that whole Lux package, all I'd want is the Moonroof and Leather seats.

Gizzmo_jr
04-08-2007, 09:23 PM
maybe if it was full leather, aren't the sides faux leather and only the middle is real?

So I've been totally itching this week right, after the fact that it's been 10days since rail date (roughly the time it takes for the car to show up).
Timing couldn't be better. My Jeep has desided to give it's last stand. The starter is going, well specifically the brushes. Once in awhile the starter just won't go all together, grounding out. So a couple of smacks with a hammer and away I go. As of tonight, done this 8 times. I ain't putting another dime into the Jeep besides gas to get to work. Not even running an air filter cause the old one is soaked in oil. Trust me, lots-o-problems.

Every night this week I've "casually" scooped out the lot seeing if my car has showed up, nothing at all. Dealer has no idea when it's going to show up but I assumed they wouldn't, depends when a truck comes our way. I haven't talked to anyone or heard anything since Tuesday so figure getting the car for the weekend is a no go, and would have to buy a new starter ($100, no brush kit available). But tonight....:)...came around back in the lot where the garage keeps their cars. But what comes into my headlights? An electric blue mica GT still wrapped like a christmas present. I said to myself there is no way, I've gotta be dreaming. Hopped out, flashlight in hand, and checked the VIN. YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :bana :bana2
I assume I'll get it on friday, my faith in Mazda is back and couldn't be more proud.

Nice to hear...

See you at the BubbaQ?

Gizzmo_jr
04-26-2007, 08:34 AM
Oh without a doubt. If it's this weekend, pretty much stock. If rain and next weekend, most if not all my mods.

PS - TheBiz, still in talks with my mother about what she wants in the car. When I confirm, you'll be getting a phone call.

So now to deside whether or not to take hwy 2 (runs parallel to 401) or just do the slow/fast thing all the way along the 401. I wish I had more breakin time before I do a long trip like to TO for the BBQ.

My afternoon/evening schedule just didn't work out, as I would of been driving then then straight back. Next one for sure, even just a casual Saturday/Sunday meet.

Hmm, pictures. Yeah so there's been a lot of rain and I've done 924km in 42 hours so the car is filthy. Just let me grab a bucket of soap first :P
