Hi all,

I'm a fellow Mazda3 owner from BC and part of the BCMazda3 (http://www.bcmazda3.com) community over there. I have been happily driving a red 2006 Mazda3 GT sedan (manual, w/o GFX package) for almost a year now. Contrary to most of my other Mazda3 friends, my car is still completely stock. :blush :)

I figure I'd drop by because I've seen TheBiz pop into the BCMazda3 forums every now and then and figured I might as well pay a visit here too. Of course, don't let my current location mislead you - I lived in Markham for over twenty years with my family and went to uni downtown. So in many ways, I'm more familiar with the GTA than the GVRD (Greater Vancouver Regional District). I went out west for a variety of reasons, but primarily to kick-start my career straight out of school.

Anyways, hope to be around and thanks for reading!

I'm having a great time in BC. I do enjoy the GVRD a lot and I'm looking to settle somewhere here, but there are certain parts of the GTA that I do miss especially since a lot of my friends and family are still there.

With regards to driving in Vancouver:

+ Nice twisty, mountainous roads just outside the city
+ Great scenery almost anywhere (mountains, forests, ocean)
+ Very little snow and mild weather = lots of good cruisin' with the windows down and little salt/sand build-up on the car

- When it does snow, the drivers here are insane. They can handle rain very well, but snow makes Vancouver drivers seem reckless.
- City road planning is awful. There's a complete lack of multi-lane roads and left-turn lanes at many important sections of the city.
- Bridges

Welcome!

What part of Vancouver are you in? I'm the opposite, I lived in Vancouver for a while before moving to Toronto! :)
