Went fishing an hour outta Toronto near Lindsey for some pickeral since it wasn't quite bass season yet. Enjoyed the beautiful weather but didn't have much luck with the fish.....gave up on the pickeral and decided to have some fun with the carp.
They don't put up a fight quite like bass or salmon but at 30+lbs each they can put up a little fight. Amazingly these guys will bite on bread or corn.....Here is some pics of the monster beside a cooler and in a double basin sink. :)
Carp ain't really good eating so I donated the bugger to a friend who works at a local Chinese Restaurant.

Nice looking fish Gabe! I still have yet to hook into carp but hopefully sometime this year off of my dock. Although I don't know about eating them after hearing about all the dead carp in Lake Scugog.
Went out this weekend for Bass opening on Rice Lake but caught nothing but a small baby Bass. :(

Nice catch.
Bass and Trouts are the tastiest fishes, everything else I just throw back. Catfish are ok, but the last one I caught fell off the boat as I was taking out the hook. Bugger. lol.

Yeah Rice Lake isn't the greatest...last year my friends and I rented a pontoon and went fishing for 10 hours straight and caught nothing but small bass and sunfish...

I haven't had great luck on it on it yet. But oh well, I got time to kill there. With the boat and cottage there, I'll put in my time and the results will come. :)
Where do you fish now Gabe?
+1 on Pickeral. Very tasty indeed!

No. I don't eat fish in general. I'm a steak and potatoes type of guy with the occasional fish and chips for lunch. :)
I've only tried crappie, bass and walleye.
If you want good carp fishing go down to the nuke plant in pickering, they are huge there. (Just don't eat them. LOL)

Nahh I can't eat carp.....I think it's in the same family as goldfish and koi.
Thats why it was donated to a chinese restaurant :)

Never had pickeral, staying with bass and trout. Crappies aren't bad when you pan fry them. Too bad they're really small and don't have much meat.

Crappies are good! But then again your right about the no meat part...
