very nice piece, car has no problem reving up to 6500rpm but i also have ms cai, 3.5 ets tmic.

so this is a high flow cat setup too right? 3" pipe? So the only difference really between this and a TBE is the DP in which case if you replaced it you would lose your emissions clear status as it repalces the other cat?

Let me set this straight. On the stock Speed3, there is another part besides the Downpipe and CAT back portion. The downpipe piece includes the 1st CAT, while the next piece includes the 2nd CAT. The Vibrant replaces everything after the downpipe, replacing the 2nd CAT with a High Flow CAT. All the other CAT Backs do not replace this 2nd part, nor the 2nd CAT. Some shops offer a "race pipe" that replaces this 2nd cat with a straight pipe (which I would not recommend). To put it a little easier, the Vibrant replaces about 2 or 3 feet more than other CAT backs (including the Mazdaspeed), AND replaces the 2nd CAT which none of them do.

The production unit is identical to the one I've had on my car since December, with the only difference being mine does not have "Vibrant" stamped on the tip.

if you want a full turbo-back cp-e has one at street unit.

i believe for performance the vibrant is going to be the better exhaust because of the extra 2-3 feet of 3" tubing and high flow cat.
unless you go with cp-e and their turbo-back but still i dont think you need to change the downpipe unless you plan on doing a turbo upgrade, i think you need some back pressure.

ok so mabye its better with less back pressure but this is what im doing intill i get a turbo or ems.

how noticable is the power gain? sounds really close the cp-e from what i can tell (http://www.cp-e.com/imgs/MazdaSPEED3_Cat_Back_Sound_Drive_Away_02.MPG) which is good since i really like that sound

it was definately a noticable gain in the rev range and power but i have the ETS tmic and MS cai and SU mount and soon the forge bpv, but over all the car feels a lot better than stock and now sounds better too.

hurry up pnp or im gonna break down and just hard wire it.
