speed3 vrs 1997 boxter

Hey guys...

Been thinking about the speed3 but havnt had a chance to test drive one as of yet. I just drove around a 97 boxter (not s) and that thing hauls ##%@#.

Looked up the stats and apparently its ~2900lbs and 200hp and 180 tq.

Anybody driven both and wish to comare the two of them for me so I know what a speed3 is like?

Call around to dealerships and test drive a speed3. That is the only way you will know the difference.

The two cars will drive very different since the boxter is rear wheel drive and the speed 3 is not.

Compare the acceleration of the two vehicles hehe.

I have a regular 05 sport gt, both my car and teh boxter handle quite well. Im just looking for a comparison of "push you back in your seat" factor I guess.

1 word to help u out WARRENTY and if that doesnt help just go ask around to porsche parts big bucks but there not that far off from each other one of my buddies had an 02 boxter for a week as a rental and i wasnt really inpressed with it

to me its just the poor mans porsche pretty much a joke to having the porsche name to it

I can't even imagine trying to choose between these two cars! I mean... one's a RWD roadster and the other is a fun to drive FWD little wagon.

Are you putting more emphasis on fun or on practicality? The MS3 is fun and practical... the Boxter is more fun, giving you the option of top-down cruising.

Pure performance should have very little to do with this decision.

So this two door roadster weighs the same as our wagons do... and it has 200 horsepower? You're wondering if the 260hp mazda 3.. with 60ish more horsepower without mods will push you back into the seat more? I'm just wondering if you need clarification because.... :)

Mazdaspeed 3 will totally take the porsche. Maybe not in the handling department (Front engine-Front drive won't do nearly as well as mid-rear) but the power will pull it through.

The boxter is a poor man's 911. Its the car you buy if you can't afford a 911.
