Hi everyone, just a quick note to let you know that I bought my '06 Mazda 3 GT from Oakville Mazda in Dec. '05, and couldn't be happier. Their shopping experience (salesperson: Ryan, EXCELLENT!), their financing experience, their service department and post-sales contacts have been second to none. I find they treat me with respect, they come through on all promises, the car is always ready on time, their prices are reasonable, and they follow up on everything that I come in for. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I drive 35 minutes out of my way from downtown Toronto to get even an oil change there because I know they will treat me well. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I had a different experience. They checked out my trade-in car and told me it was a junker. Graham told me I shouldn't even drive the car off the lot. It was too dangerous. They offered me $100 for my car.
When I told them it wasn't enough, they told me to try and get a family member to buy it from me, to maybe make more money.
In one breath, the car was too dangerous to be on the road.
In the next breath, I should sell the car to a family member.
I ended up getting $1000 for my car at Erin Mills Mazda.

Well, I didn't have a trade, maybe that made the difference.
Fox I am glad you had a good experience there. Maybe they have changed the way they manage people. I must agree with asif9t9. I have had such terrible experiences that even if they offered me $500 in free service I wouldn't go back. I always feel raped and insulted every time I step foot in the dealership.

Well, the Graham guy I mentioned is the main man there. But I don't want to hate on them. I know the game. They're all into sales. And when they lowball a trade-in value, the next step is to suggest selling the car privately, or to family, to try and get the value I want.
The idea is that I'm too lazy to go through the effort. But since the dealer is suggesting it, it must mean their offer is as good as it gets. Of course, they'd never suggest I go try out other dealers!!
So, when they tell me the car should be off the road, they're just trying to give an excuse for lowballing. Then when they tell me to sell to family, they're just trying to tell me they've given their final offer. But the two are mutually independent.
I don't believe Graham is an a$$hole or would actually let me have a family member drive a car that shouldn't be on the road.
But all that said....if they're going to play the game....they need to play it right. You can't tell someone a car is dangerous and then tell them to let a family member drive it. That's just pure incompetence.
