what is the benefit of the boost tubes?

Benefits of the 5 Ply Boost Tubes:

Improves Throttle Response and Drivability
Hoses Will Not Expand Like Stock Hoses During Boost
The Thicker 5-Ply Hoses Will Insulate the Intake Air Temperature
Smoothes Out Boost Pressure Throughout Power Band
Aesthetically Pleasing Addition to the Engine Bay and Attracts Car Show Points
Bolt On, Factory Replacement InstallInfo taken from streetunit.com

I personally wouldn't get this if I ever have a speed3.
