Whitespeed3 is still at the track so I'll let him post up his numbers and stuff when he wants... all in all we had some fun.

Dyno's were done in 4th gear with TSC/DSC off... Whitespeed3 first round did third with just one of the TSC lights off and made huge gains after some small bpv tweaks, 4th gear (like i used), hood open vs. closed. and dsc and tsc off.

With the hood closed early in the morning I made 266.6whp and 289.3lbs of tq (4th gear, all tsc/dsc off).

For our second set once the fog had cleared the air mid day (around 22 degs according to the dash temp gauge) with the hood open i actually gained (as did vince) to 275.2whp and 294.2wtq

Very happy with the gains of the cpe tbe and ms cai :hawt

Good numbers. I'll dyno similar I guess..

Edit: If we calculate a 10-12%drivetrain loss (its the maximum I think for fwd), you're putting between 305-315hp and 325-335ft-pds/tq at the crank. Not bad at all. With my ETS FMIC and the CP-E turbo tbe it should put me to about 330-340hp and 350-360ft-pds/tq at the crank. A Standback EMT would get near 400bhp.

Was there a fan in front of the car when you ran the dyno?

Yes, it was huge.

Nice # :).

Thanks whitespeed3 & his Neon friend for coming.

He did good at the strip tonight too but I'll let him tells his story so don't spoil it James!

well my photos of the dyno sheet didnt come out to well i'll take a different one tomorow but in 4th with hood up and TCS/DCS off HP 269.3 TORQ 279.2, but in 3rd with hood down and DCS only off HP 233.3 TORQ 253.8
big difference between 3d gear and 4th gear

differences between the car are (correct me if im wrong)

Mine: Injen Intake, Turboxs BOV, Turbo XS Race-Pipe, and Stock Exhaust

Unoriginals: Mazdaspeed Intake, Stock BOV, CP-E TBE

and at the track my best time was 14.4 sec at 101.4 MPH witch im am very happy with, all and all great day

still waiting for this dyno that you and pat were at... who did it and with what mods?

Went on the dyno today. On a Mustang dyno. 91octane. My mods are Injen cai and Forge bpv.

245whp@5500rpm
264wtq@4200rpm

http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/6659/stockwithcaidynospeed3cuz5.th.jpg (http://img89.imageshack.us/my.php?image=stockwithcaidynospeed3cuz5.jpg)

Wanted base numbers before the mods go on in the spring...CP-E turboback, ETS TMIC and standback if it comes out (plug and play). Pretty happy with the numbers.

so basically my turbo xs race pipe and hybrid BOV made 15 ft-Lbs and 24 hp im happy with that but the full TBE will kill my numbers its been proven already

Propably just the racepipe.

What do you mean the tbe will kill your numbers ?

well that is mustang vs. dynojet.... mutangs read higher so your gains would be more imo

dynojets read higher than mustang dynos...about 10%more if I'm not mistaking. So yes if I'd gone on a dynojet, I'd make a tat more I think.

Mustang Dyno's apply a load, via eletro-mechanical resistance, then rwhp is calculated based on how your "acceleration/unit of time" of this load occurs...

DynoJet Dyno's simply use a large drum, of know mass, as its rotating resistance...Then rwhp is calculated based on how your "acceleration/unit of time" of the drum occurs...

From what I am told the Mustang dyno gives you a "true" or real world rwhp... i.e. my '00 FRC put down 307 rwhp stock, using 12% drivetrain loss and that is 348 flywheel hp (factory rated 345 hp)...My '02 Z06, on the same Mustang dyno, put down 348 rwhp stock, divide that by 12%, using the same 12% drivetrain loss is 395 fwhp (factory rated at 405 hp)

Dyno Jet Dynos give more of a bragging rights rwhp...

The difference between the two is about 10%...Dyno Jets registering the higher hp readings...

Yours for example...358 rwhp Mustang Dyno vs. 405 rwhp DynoJet...358/405=.884...Pretty close to the 10%...

Last comparison one of the F-body guys posted on LS1.com was the something like the following...338 rwhp Mustang vs. 378 rwhp DynoJet...338/378=.901

On the Mustang dyno that I go to...Stock LS1's in F-body cars dyno in the 280~290 rwhp range...Yet nearly every LS1 F-body that posts rwhp using DynoJet Dynos are in the 310~320 rwhp stock...285/315=0.905

Again...285 rwhp using 12% drivetrain loss gives 324 fwhp, factory rated 320 hp...If you use the DynoJet hp, then you get the following...315 rwhp with 12% drivetrain loss gives 358 fwhp, factory rated 320 hp...So you see, it sound great to think these engines are putting out this kind of power, but it's just not as realistic of a number as you get with the Mustang Dyno...

It really doesn't matter what Dyno you use...Just as long as you keep using the same dyno to check your mods...This will keep variances down to a minimum and tell you truely if any mod is helping or not...

i always mix those two up.... comparing dynos is impossible, point is vince a 07 stock speed on a dynojet does around 230whp. guess we should have found a stock speed to come with us so that we'd know for sure on the same day/same dyno

I did a quick search to confirm what I was saying and there's tons of info comparing the two. Dynojets have about 7% higher numbers than mustang dynos which are more accurate. I said 10% earlier but I was wrong.

Just wanted a base dyno run so I can compare with next year. I like the numbers I'm seing but they're not very important at this point.

I am not sure mustangs are more accurate, they are more accurate for tunning since you can stimulate more real world conditions that make it more realistic in real world conditions but in terms of just calculating hp/tq a dyno jet is more accurate.

I wouldn't say a dynojet reads too high, i'd say a mustang is the lowest reading and has the most advanced technology for tuning your car... there is one that reads higher than both but i forget what it is called
