You could always try to find the ballast. I don't have the stock HIDs, so I'm not sure where they would be located. When you turn on your lights, do they start very dim and slowly get brighter? Or do they just turn on at full power? If they start dimly, you have HIDs.

they started very bright and white and then become yellow slowly.

I believe the stock ballast is located pretty snug under the headlight so I don't think you'll be able to see it.

Stock HIDs are something like 4300K ~ 4700K so you may see a hint of yellow once they warm up.

I'm not familiar with what features are included with Lux Pack but isn't there a list somewhere with features included with your package? (btw, what year is it?)

I think manual leveling switch only comes with stock HID so if you have the switch, you should have HID (someone correct me if this is wrong).

If you know how HIDs turn on/off it's easy to tell.

You can change the bulb. Just have to find the correct type. They are not cheap though. BTW, you won't be getting "brighter" bulbs, just bulbs rated at different color temperature.

As Xerox said, you'll only get bulbs at different temps.
The brightest bulbs are at 4300K.
If you find that adjust your headlight aiming isn't enough.
Come to a meet, and see if your headlight system is defective by comparing it to another 07 with stock HIDs

Definitely sounds like you have the HIDs... They are a slight blue colour when first ignited, and then slowly become a "pure white" colour, which has a hint of yellow.

You can always change the bulbs to a 5000K, but be ready to spend around $100 for the bulbs plus installation. A common misconception is that the higher the K rating, the brighter, but it's actually the other way around. A 5000K is not as bright as a 4300K.

Correct, the colours of a higher temp are more "eye-catching" (literally). Our eyes trick us into thinking the blue'er puperlish bulbs are "brighter", when in fact, they throw less light on the road.

If you want the Blue/Purple look, change the bulbs . However, if you want practicality, then keep your current stock setup.

thanks guys. now, i think i have the HID, because i can find the angle switch and and change the angle of the light. and the cut off of my lamp is very sharp.

My math may be incorrect, but around:

Phillips: $165 per bulb
Apexcone: $75 per bulb
Prolumen: $160 for 2 bulbs

Even for D2S?

I think so, ask Devin, it should be the same since there's no different between pricing for both kits.

You may still want to mention that they seem dark when you get your first maintenance done. Could be a bad bulb or bad burn in. Worth a shot.

4300K is light yellow for human eyes. stock left lowbean ballast located below the airbox (at least it looks like), if you are stock, you wont see it. i cant find the right side ballast.

I'm assuming that "Discharge headlight control module" is the ballast.

For a kit maybe but you can get Philips 85122+ bulbs for alot less than $165.
