Some of you know I've been working on something since winter of last year. Some of you have seen a bit of it at a meet yesterday when I joined last minute.

Not the best angle but it's a start. It's work in progress.

V1.1
Strengthened and extended the boom. Compared to v1.0 the angle is not as tight. This is using 18mm x 1.6 crop which results in 28.8mm. (16mm wide angle would look so much better!)
Unlike v1.0 where the engine was off and car was pushed, I'm actually driving in this one so the engine is running. Camera triggered using radio remote trigger.

Just wondering...is the front passenger window open all the way?

All windows are closed. Moonroof is the only thing open.

Night-time and a rolling shot? Daring.

Looks like a good first attempt. I think the car would stand out more on a better lit background or if you could somehow get some rim lighting in there. Are you whipping together a DIY rig? I just finished watching a Streetfire.net video with a photographer that does work for Top Gear magazine and he was talking about some of the challenges with rolling shots and some tips to go with it.

haha. I've still got a long way to go. And from looking at your work you are way ahead of me.

Photo kicks ass as usually. I love these types of shots, they're so dynamic.

Very nice.

How did you trigger your camera (does it have a wireless remote capability?)

Used self timer to trigger the camera.

I used my gf’s 350D for this shot. Canon has a wireless (IR) shutter remote for the 350D but we don’t have it. I do have a 3rd party wireless (RF) shutter remote for my 30D which I hope to you once I have more trust in the rig.
