Cruising along Lakeshore Blvd. [Archive]

Based on previous discussions I've been having w/ fellow members, there appears to be an overwhelming desire to have a waterfront cruise along Lakeshore Blvd. from east to west and/or west to east & everything in between. One Sunday in July that would work for all seems fine.

Count me in...and absolutely anyone else who's interested.:)

I'm thinking west to east...

1. starting around Colborne, where the parks start west of Palais Royale, being Stop#1 for some pics and meet-up.

2. Ontario Place parking lot...if we can get into the smaller lot that's further east, it's usually empty.

3. The Docks' parking lot...hopefully there won't be a charity event there...big spot and nice view of the skyline.

4. Ashbridges Bay.

Actually I think this is a fantastic idea also. How about we were to start at the Etobicoke Lakeshore (Promenade Park). Meet there and then cruise East to the Beaches area.

careful with the docks

they will want you to get a permit or at least permission to use their parking lot

they are tight a bit, they think they own that view of the skyline!

if a big bunch of cars come, they may kick you all out

so call ahead!

oh and this sounds like a fantastic idea

just throw this in there, but when we did this last year in oakville, 4 of us went to Burlington as well and aside from the construction on Brant Street (fixed now) it was quite nice too and LOTS of places to park :)

How 'bout the 1st Sunday in July, on the 6th. Summer mornings are usually very nice, so I think we should start semi-early like 9am or something. My schedule is very flexible in the summer so I can make it to whatever time/day we are soon to decide by consensus.

ok guys I just got back from Mosport...sorry for not sending anything out...

Guys/girls, I'm affraid I have to pull out of this. This was a a last minute thing and I have to be there. I was all 'gung ho' for this cruise and it kills me cause it's going to be a gorgeous day. Sorry again and I hope everything goes well.

We're definitely going to do it again soon. It was a very nice day to cruise, snap some pics, & chat. Fobio's going to post some pics tonight. 3 members showed up. Maybe it was too early; we'll make it later next time.

Yes we were actually talking about how you would probably come to the next cruise b/c of your eagerness to show off your new rims. We actually did this on Sunday morning. I believe I read your post that said you had an appointment at Simply Tire.

When I met you in the parking lot the other day, it's amazing how your TR paint w/ pimpin mods flashed into my view whereas my stock CB Speed blended into the evening night; barely visible among the other cars.

You should come the next one. When is a good time for everyone. I'm a big fan of Sundays b/c the roads are more relaxed. There are 2 more Sundays left in July...time is running out.

James can't go, I don't think so anyway. He has mini UOU to look after ;). James is helping me with the instal in his driveway. And great about 5pm, but where are the docks? I work right off Lakeshore but I have no idea where anything is down there. We could meet at the Executive car wash at Parlaiment and Front St, I know right where that is. :chuckle

Yeah, it was cool meeting up with zoomzoom33 + alhope34. I just read Al's post re: his bi-weekly meet that he forgot about. Someone seems to be pretty angry with him...can't blame him though b/c he really did forget. There was a lot of traffic so we lost each other a couple of times on Lakeshore. The last place we stopped at had a great view of the water + the tall downtown office buildings.

zooom + al caused a lot of rubber necking b/c of the True Red paint & slick mods (loud exhaust, BPV). I was just another car passing by that nobody looked at. No mods + stealthy colour equals no attention.

These guys like driving fast. No camera so pics were not taken.

Hope to do it again soon.

It was a nice cruise, LOVE the sound of Als BPV. I still can't believe its that loud. I enjoy it other then the fact that al missed his other meet. Got to do this again sometime. Hey speedy, you need to get some modds done so that the ppl on the streets notice you too. :chuckle. Or maybe repaint it TR.:)

I guess I don't mind being invisible. I'd rather have performance mods than exterior enhancements because I think the car looks great stock. A car that looks great stock is a car that will always appeal to me. I know you guys have both. I'm going to count my new personalized plate as my first mod since my original license plate was installed by the dealer.

I tried my best to keep up; my user name definitely does not accurately reflect my driving style on a normal basis.

Looking forward to our next meet....
