Anyone know how to remove the driver side piller so I can install my new guage pod/piller? A How-To would be great, I heard I shouldnt do this in the cold to avoid cracking but I'm not sure if its just held in purely by clips.

Thank you =)

I had mine off when I upgraded my mirror..... it's not so much hard to get off as hard-to-explain with out pictures. And there is a clip that you will break if you do it wrong.

The description on how to remove it should be in the on-line repair manual that is linked somewhere around here. You should also be able find it if you look for autodim mirror install instructions.

Hey guys, more info... I had a look at the PDF manual that is linked in the thread I pointed out a couple of posts ago. (it's about a 45MB download, gotta love highspeed!). It's the same version of the manual that shows up on-line, when you can find it. The A-pillar removal is described, with pictures.

What fastener remover, and do you pull the A clips starting from the bottom and then the B clip. why do you got to turn it, kind of vague.

Pull the pillar cover out in the middle, which will detach the push in clips. Try to get as many as possible. I believe they can actually slide up and down in their holes though. Once they are loose, slide the pillar cover toward the roof... you will end up compressing the headliner somewhat, so only slide it as far as needed. This will let the to clip clear the u-shaped hole and you will be able to pull the top of pillar cover toward the other side of the car to detach it. Then finish up with the other clips. Installation is basically the reverse.

I was trying to remove the driver side cover over the summer but gave up on it as I was afraid that I'll break it.

The edges are quite sharp! you could easily get cuts on your fingers so careful! I had a few cuts as well.

took me 5 minutes. FIVE minutes.. Didnt break a thing. or cut my fingers. or lose my future children.. the only clip you gotta worry bout is the top one. it doesnt pop off. it slides off going towards the headliner. once you slide that off the rest is pop off , smooth as butter. I put it back on just for the sake of it as well, even easier.
