From the looks of it they appear to be leds

Use this guide to find out. what lights out and how to change it.

Try knocking on the panel. I have one that goes out. I just knock on the panel and it comes back on.

Might just be a faulty connection.... may be enough to reseat the connectors

Yeah, I have to rip the console apart (I need to replace the ashtray light because it's burnt out as well). When the weather warms up I'll have a look at it.

I remember there is a thread on the M3F with step-by-step instructions to replace the LED on the center console... I think the thread was about changing all the LEDs to blue..it might be worth the search. Just a thought!

There are 3-4 leds along the bottom and 2 bulbs that light the 3 dials.

I also tried to get the manual A/C unit out of my car, and failed... its in there good. If you figured out a way to take it out to replace your bulb, let us know :)

thanks for all the info and help guys. its much appreciated.

i've tried taking it to mazda and seeing how much it would cost for them to fix it.
i figured it wont be that bad if it would cost less than a bill considering the labour and soddering.

but when i took it in. they took out the whole center console and said they couldnt do it.
theyre recomendation was to change the whole airflow control which was a cool 3 bills.
i guess im gonna have to do the project my self.
