Possibly a shock leaking?

probably oil.
when a shock leaks, it doesnt really drip. it just sorta sweats.

thats the only black fluid i can think of, unless your power steering fluid is getting really old...

if it is the oil check the oil level to make sure its full if not then you have a problem.

Grease from the CV and oil from a shock are different in viscosity. The grease should not puddle under the car like that.

First, check the engine oil to make sure you're OK, then take the wheel off, inspect the strut for any oil around it. While you're there, you may as well check the boot as well.

I guess the car is no longer under the bumper to bumper warranty, would the mount be covered under the powertrain warranty?

Go to a dealer and ask them, how many kilometers on the car now?
What year?

I believe as long as your vehicle is below 5 years/100k, mounts are still covered under the Powertrain Warranty, ....pretty sure anyways! :)

And the Manufacturer's warranty is transferable to alternate owners so you would be covered still.
