counter-clockwise has a kink or 2 but overall a better run.

clockwise is the default and is less technical.

counterclockwise, I do about 79 - 80 sec per lap on last year's spec.

Some lap data and vid from last yr:

Stage 1+ SF V1.01 MSF aFT
79.896 sec
max 145.0 km/h
avg 91.6 km/h
max lat g 0.91

Stage 1+ SF V1.01
80.262 sec
max 144.80 km/h
avg 90.7 km/h
max lat g 0.95

Stock
80.214 sec
max 143.9 km/h
avg 88.9 km/h
max lat g 1.03

Yeah Seriously, auto just means some differences in the way you need to drive. And I am sure you would still be having as much fun as we are!

start with autocross first! July 4th! you just leave it in 1st gear... easier to run then all the stuff i have to deal with

There's nothing wrong with a 3 in Dunnville. I have a lot of laps at Dunnville in my old 3 and it got around just great. During one session I was consistently closing the gap on a Mustang GT, as soon as he would get to the straight he would leave me then would catch back up in the corners and finally he waved me past. The car loves the tight track and you will have an awesome time.

As for me, I won't be able to make it this weekend :complain

There is also a street class that you would be enrolled in unless you run R compound tires. You would not be competing directly with the Speed 3's, just civics primarily.

Not entirely obvious (to me anyway), I had to stop to think about why you would need to borrow stock tires... and then it occurred to me ;)

And people say I don't pay attention when ppl are talking to me! ;)

In a pinch, a set of winters would probably work in the rain, especailly if it is coming down hard....

Fobio

Super Street FWD

1st Big Dad - MS3 - 1.13
2nd NeutralBlack - N-SRT4 - 1.16.02
3rd Fobio - MS3 - 1.16.7 :)

Big Dad also got 2nd fastest overall, it would've been 1st, but the CanJam prepped rally STi had one more go and beat Big Dad's best time of the day by less then 1/2 second on his 2nd chance...

Always up for a challenge, and for shits and giggles...Big Dad took on the pro rally driver after TA...

both ran about 1.12.7x, which is of course better than their TA times...:bana mind you, CanJam did say their driver needed some more practice on tarmac...lol...there's only so much you can do with a full roll cage, stripped interior, racing buckets, JDM/CDM mojo under the hood, racing brakes, and even a slosh tank...and don't get me wrong, he's a good driver...and that's the point.

I myself improved on my best time of last year by about 3 seconds...:bana2

It rained all morning but it dried out as the day went on...dry enough to use the good tires. :hawt It's nice to win a trophy, but like maplephin said, if you want one so bad, it's cheaper to just make one for yourself...lol...

Big Dad
06-20-2009, 10:34 PM
Congratulations Fobio on your first well deserved podium. If I could show improvement like you, the sky would be the limit. Good job, keep it up!

Just as a matter of interest, the best time I posted in the stripped Mini Cooper S with Falken Azenis was 1:17. And with an 06 WRX STI with sway bars, upgraded racing brakes (calipers, rotors and pads) and R compound tires was 1:16.

I don't feel so bad running 1:18 stock now...:bang

Actually I think the session just before was not good for me. I had a big oh sh*t moment on the second to last lap of the session and I was a little tentative through said corner. Something about 120k and the back end getting loose and while steering through it hitting the horn just to draw a little more attention to yourself that sort of screws you up. I've been thinking a lot about how twitchy the car was. I was trying to rotate the car with pressure in the rears and I think I should have come down a few pounds. If I could ever get my gps to work, I'm sure I was running a couple of seconds quicker through the day. (Azenis are now at the treadwear bars, Dunnville is hard on tires)

BTW, the wife drove the car to work today and let me know that she thought the brakes are a little spongy. Don't know how that could have happened:bana Hey, at least she noticed...:)

Ha, and I thought I was the only one who did that. I had a big oh shit moment myself, exiting the front straight and going off the track hard... I made sure to hit the horn just as I left the track. Good times.

How many events did they last?

How many events did they last?

I'm not sure of how many km's I have on the street, but 4 track days. I don't think it will be a problem for them to last until my winters go back on.
The wear is not that much different from the OE tires, they lasted a summer and a half.

As fobio has said, Dunnville is hard on tires. I don't think they would have worn as quick at TMP.

Only 2 cars and 4 bikes, but the true question should be "How many great friends do you have?" seeing as these great friends keep lending me their incredible cars to see what I can do with them on the track! Lol:hawt
