Hello,

I have purchased this vehicle in March of 09 and have no problems with it however the ABS light wont turn off. I bought the car even though I knew the light was ON as I didn't think not having it was a big deal cause of the price I was getting. The dealer did the test to show that the speed sensor from the Front right passenger side was missing and said if I wanted one it would be around $150. I noticed with out this sensor I also cannot use my cruise control which I would use often as I drive far distances.

Does anyone know where i can find a speed sensor for less then $150? 07 Mazda 3 2.0 L automatic.

How you managed to buy a car with an ABS light on that passed safety is beyond me... A car cannot pass a true safety with an ABS light on. Brakes need to be properly functioning, hydraulically an electronically. It doesn't matter if you said its okay, the ministry doesn't, and that mechanic's license is at stake. Take it back and tell them to fix it, or you'll report their mechanic to the MTO. Pretty shady, who knows what else is wrong with the car....

he bought the car for a "better price" and is too cheap to even pay $150 to fix it

An ABS sensor will run you about $32.40 and if needed the sensor harness $55.00. The rest of that $150+ must be labor.

Hey

I just visited Maple mazda Dealer to get my car serviced for that ABS sensor problem and the mechanic said that Mazda ABS sensors are in the Ball bearings and bearings could have been installed backwards giving me the ABS light. He said no one knows that you can put the bearing backwards but he has tested it and it works. Does anyone think this is true? will it solve my problem.

If not i will buy a new sensor just wanted to get another expert opinion since im having work done in that area anyways.

Flip, can you please confirm these prices since this thread is from 09'? Are these with the TM3 discount? Also, how do I know if I need the harness? I had to replace my bearing recently and I have the ABS light on my dash and my cruise doesn't work.
