View Full Version : Warranty on speakers in the car?

Hey guys, just wonder what Mazda's warranty policy is on car speakers... My car is roughly 2-3 months old, and I think one or 2 of the tiny front tweeters is scratchy. By no means do I blast my music, the loudest I've ever had it was 20, but it's normally around 8-10. My bass and treble are set to -2 and 0 respectively.

Any input would be appreciated!

As long as their is no subs in the car it should be covered under warranty

Having subs would have NOTHING to do with Mazda covering them under warranty. If the speakers aren't performing properly than there may be something wrong with them. Factory speakers are definitely covered under warranty so I would get them to have a look if I were you.

Depending what dealer it could be used against him...

For sure every dealer is different but but how can having a sub cause your speakers to go? The two are unrelated if your speaker setup is somewhat tuned properly.

Just wondering that's all. :)

Alright thanks guys! Will definitely have this looked at. I remember asking this same question last year on 8thGenCivics, and they all said it would not be covered >_>

Thanks for all the input!

Hey, I know this is super off topic, but I think I saw your car going northbound on Mavis yesterday at around 715 in the morning (Hives).

+1

The stock speakers are unrelated to a subwoofer. Go ahead and have it checked out.

I'm actually curious how much Mazda charges for stock speakers lol

I had a similar problem probably 2 months in, at the time I didn't know better so I took it to Markham Mazda.

I played a song that showed the problem really well and they blamed the song, didn't do anything for me. I haven't revisited the problem since but it doesn't bother me that much.

Damn... I only have a few songs that show the problem well... And it never happens when I listen to the radio =\ I know it's deff not the songs since they didn't have this problem at the beginning =\

light bulbs are covered under warranty so i don't see why speakers won't be, especially if you are still within the 12 months/20,000km "adjustment" period where, if anything goes wrong, it is normally replaced no questions asked.

unless you say "i cranked the volume to 50 to see how loud it was...." the speakers should be covered.

if you're in the east end of the GTA, take it to Agincourt...if you're in the west end, take it to Oakville.

If you like your music loud and your young, live at home and have money to spend. By the aftermarket speakers. If your like myself (31) and spending money on maintaining the car (starting to get expensive) then don't bother with buyin new ones. lol.

I don't crank my music up really loud... I am young, still going to school, and living with my parents though.
