Loud noise

Im driving home today and my car is making a loud noise! When you let off the gas or shift gears it sounds like an exhaust leak but when you accelerate it's not loud. The noise seems to be from under the front footwells! Any ideas?

Are you stock? Header, intake, am exhaust, highflow, etc?

No mods at all, it also makes banging noise when you start it!

Like a mechanical bang, or like metal on metal? I had my exhaust slip off one of the hangers once. It made a rattling banging noise. Have you looked underneath the car, and in around the engine bay (maybe a critter in your engine bay?)? Also, try to get someone to start your car while you try to see where the noise comes from.

I think I might have a bottom engine mount gone, is that covered under MAP?

I dropped it off at Mazda and it seems that both engine mounts are pooched!

Seems very premature for 115km!

I dont doubt the engine mounts being gone with our shitty roads and constant construction it can be normal. 115k is quite a bit of mileage though
