Rear licence plate

My new 3 has the plate screwed to the rear bumper by the dealer. I know this is going to rub all the paint off so I was wondering if there is supposed to be a plate holder on the rear bumper.

we all have our rear license plates screwed to our bumper... and if it rubs off the paint..the plate is going to hide it anyways

OK. I though they left the plate holder off.
I may stick some rubber pads to the back of the plate to set it away from the bumper.

the bumper is made of plastic anyway..who cares if it scratches..

i have foam on the back of my rear lisence plate, simply because it used to vibrate when i had my subs. but it wont take the paint off anyways, i take my plate off and clean behind it every year when i get my new stickers.
