Long time wanting to do this meet, glad we finally got things started, for anyone that hasn't been here before (likely a lot of people)... the wings are "really good" by most standards, i have had bigger/better, but also I have had worse too! What sets these wings apart from many others, is the HUGE selection of different/unique styles. I have had the pleasure of having probably about 80% of them (there are a lot) and loved them all! Definitely worthwhile to come out and try these! Check out the "wings menu link" in the first post to see what i mean!

Andrew, if you can decide on a couple flavours with a friend or two it's a better deal anyway to get a combo pack. I know when I've went in the past with friends we usually try to split the 6lb combo (it comes out to be just under $60) that way with such a variety of flavours you can enjoy three at once and not have to settle on a pound of just one flavour.

And I'm sure you can pound down more than a pound of wings before getting truly full :chuckle

Been to the Rebecca location a couple of times, and Tuesday is indeed half price wings day (though you can only choose one flavour, at least if you're going 2lbs/price of 1). I have pool on Tuesday, though if I play early I may be able to swing by for 8:30-9:00 (should the date change).

I am glad to see all the interest, would have NEVER expected some people would come out this far! However, this whole "half price wings" sounds like a great idea, BUT... I am worried about parking space, being that it may be more busy on a tuesday night. However, I have done the math (tentatively) and it will come out to about $13/each for wings if we have ~15-20 people so even though half price would be nice, this is REALLY INEXPENSIVE anyways all things considered :)

as it stands right now with 15 people, for 2lbs each = Neighbour (10 lbs) + Party (20 lbs) = $210.98/15 = $14.07 each


if we do manage to get 20-25 people we could order the wingbonanza which would be $13/each!!!!

My thoughts so far.

1/2 price wings - If it's buy 1 lbs, get 1 lbs free but it has to be 1 flavor then this doesn't really favor me at all as I plan to get 2 flavors.

Getting 2 giant orders (as per 1flycdnM3's idea) - I don't see the point. Unless we can all agree on 5-10 flavors, this is going to more of a hassle than it's worth. Even if can decide on the same flavors, depending how many baskets they are in, trying to make sure everyone gets close to an equal amount is still going to be a hassle.

I think, if any order splitting between people is going to happen, it should be in a small amount and semi-arranged ahead of time so there's less confusion. IE I plan to order 2 single 1 lbs orders to get my 2 flavors. If someone was going to get the same flavors as me anyways, I might consider splitting a 4lbs (2lbs per flavor) to bring the cost down a bit but even then, there's not a huge cost savings.

As for Tuesday vs Thursday, doesn't matter to me. So far it seems we make it 1 day and some different people can go but some people can't and vice versa.

Derek & I kinda been thinking about it for a while, i just simply enlisted Broli(er) because people follow him like a fat kid on a smartie (truly genius move by me), but I do agree to stick with the Thursday plan and future meets could be held on a Tuesday perhaps.

However, his recent idea of setting up another wing meet in which he, himself, bailed... made me waiver on my decision to "add him to my roster" hahahaha! I mean, who signs Sidney Crosby to their team ONLY for him to sit out every game! :)

if we order tonnes of wings a wingbonanza or what ever you call it we can ask them to assort them for us into manageable sizes for table size groups

they will probably not be super super busy on a thursday, and further . . . we have a large group they will accomodate us to a degree i imagine

however Scotts idea of going in to groups that will eath approx 20lbs each is not a bad idea either.

we really have like 2 groups of 10,

so if they cant accomodate a super bonazna mega wings order and split it so all sections of the table are able to eat equally then we can do the the scoption! (that is scott option)

Huge props to Jason and Oakville Mazda for making this meet even BETTER than i expected! Really couldn't have asked for a better turn-out for a first meet in Oakville to start the season (wing meet anyways) :)

Totally unexpected gesture by Jason, but truly appreciated. This is the type of dealer relationship that sets Oakville Mazda apart from most other dealerships. I'd buy a Mazda from them, if I hadn't already done so. :D
