How do you change your username?

So as you can see my username is 'hyper7boy' which is pretty lame to say the least. I made it when I was about 11 for an R/C forum that I registered for. I soon after realized that it makes me seem like a complete loser lol... anyways I brought it over to TM3 so that I would never forget my login but I just feel like an idiot every time I type it in during login :S So, I would like to know if anyone knows how to change this username. I think I need to contact a moderator of the forum but I'm not sure which ones to contact. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Why not just remember your login that way you don't have to type it in anymore? Unless your on a public computer.

That's actually a good idea. Maybe once I find out if username change is even possible I'll post a poll for my new username..

You aren't normally allowed to change usernames. You'll have to PM a mod to ask them to change it for you.

username changes are very rare, and seem to only be approved when something major happens to the user. ie, if they buy a new car, and want the username to reflect that.

however, since you only have 38 posts, the mods will probably tell you to just make a new account.

I find people make things too difficult, just ask the right people and all will work out. Btw, the mods are the ones with the RED usernames (some are blue as well but go red first)

Above is correct. We do not like changing usernames, as it confuses other members, as well as moderators when looking at a posters history.

Yeah, I have requested a user name change. I assumed there was some process (promoted with software upgrade; voted on; etc). Having a project related background I assume these types of changes usually aren't as easy as a click of a button.
