Ok so just finished the install and it took aprox 5 hours with a hoist... Here are some install pictures...

Removing the OEM stuff was the most difficult part of this whole charade...

UR exhaust slipped in very nicely. Gobs of clearance in most areas.

I felt there was WAY to much play to the whole system after install.. Band Clams helped lots...

Hmm, no cats... Cobb mentioned that this car is going to spike like crazy without the restriction of at least one cat.

sounds nice man.. what happened with the cel?

The CEL is because the o2 sensor isn't plugged in until he gets a new one. (It got stripped during removal) The sounds in the video don't really do it any justice... I just heard it in person and it sounds MEAN! Basically, his car sounds like it's pissed off at the world lol.

I'll do some data logging tomorrow and compare the spikes.. Thanks for the heads up...

??? What's that have to do with anything? Warranty you mean?

Yup, because now you're telling the world "hey, my car is modified" and Mazda may be listening... Not only that but his car is technically illegal for road use and someone can report him. Isn't it a $600 ticket for messing around with the car's emissions controls?

I'm fairly sure that Mazda Canada has better things to do than troll forums finding people who void their warranties. And if we have members here that would report something like this then...well, they should get a life.

Looks good Mike, We gotta get a meet together, I need to hear it for real!!

When the car goes in to the dealer i HIGHLY doubt OP is going to take the exhaust off. 5 hours with a hoist is not worth the time IMO to return it to stock. How are they going to void warranty? If you get a fault for 02 then yes they will deny warranty with reasonable cause to why but if you are getting a missfire, high pressure pump or injectors, then they cannot really deny anything.

As for the emissions question, if you get caught its 500or 600$/cat that is missing

To OP car sounds pretty good i imagine though it is rather loud inside?

That was my thought on this whole license plate situation, and as for the cops no one can prove that i don't put cats on when i drive on public roads. Maybe this setup is for the track only.. Prove otherwise…

Also, yes Its loud as hell inside…. But i love it.. I have another vehicle as well so this is just my bad ass loud ass hell fast as S#!T murdered out toy..

A dude in my building got fined $1000 by the ministry of the environment for having the cat removed on his 70's Corvette Stingwray. He was told by the ministry guy that he normally tows and impounds cars with no cats on them, but since he liked classic cars he'd let him off "easy".

That being said I ran catless for 5 or 6 months I think it was and I never had any problems. I even got pulled over for noise from my stock stereo at 20 volume level, not for exhaust noise. If you get pulled over just turn your car off right away. Also, when I was catless and modded and whatnot, my dealership never cared about the mods. Never any problems with warranty or anything.

Sounds great dude. Makes me miss my exhaust.

Oh, and also, they can tell you don't have cats on the car by the smell of the exhaust. It smells like 50 lawn mowers all running at the same time in the same place. So if you get pulled over, TURN OFF your car ASAP!

Yea, same as how mine was. When I got pulled over i basically turned off the car as I was still coming to a stop. The cop never asked me to start it so he could hear/smell it, just insisted my radio was too loud at level 20 and that my relocated front plate was illegal because it wasn't in the "manufacturer's specified area". I ended up not getting a ticket after telling him that I had the stock Bose audio at about half volume and I refuse to turn it down, and that relocating the front plate is not legal at all, the HTA just states it must be on the leading edge of the vehicle (which it was).
