Hello all! Found this link (http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayPage.action?pageParameter=modelsSpecs2&vehicleCode=MS3)while clicking on stuff. Pretty interesting, but what amazes me the most is why the starting price is $24k.

It is from the US but still...

To me, it looks like they're keeping the same engine (I thought they'd do some revision to the 2.3 MZR DISI but, oh well). Oh, they did change the plugs to platinum. :chuckle

EDIT:

Sorry, I might have posted it in the wrong section... Mods, feel free to move if necessary. :)

They US MS3 has always been priced WAY lower than the canadian one.

That said, after a quick skim of the specs I don't see any significant differences over the 2010-2011's. At least nothing more than the 2012 regular 3's got.

Even on the 1st GEN MS3, the MS3 are 25k...but they have 2 trim, Canadian is one for all.

This.

The US 'speed3 cuts corners all over the place, with things like halogen headlamps, bulb-type rear lamps, etc. etc.

It is definitely a cheaper way to get your "zoom zoom" fix though.

Ok, I tried to build it up to have all the options and I got $27,460 (http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/selectConfigOptions.action?buttonAction=finish&vehicleCode=MS3&modelYear=2012&modelCode=MS3++STR+P++&mscCode=BGW5NAK&packages=TE_2MT&options=LI_ILK&options=DE_FLA&options=LO_WLK) (I hope the link works).

Compared to Canadian prices starting at roughly $30k, that's still less.

On a side note, I wonder what happens if they use the skyactiv platform and design a 2.3 DISI turbo... :)

US cars are cheaper, that's not a news anymore. Their gas is cheaper too, what can we do?

actually canada will now have two trim levels, one with and one with out the tech package (nav, hids, so on) so prices will be less for the 2012 with out the tech package

2 trim levels have been available since the '11 model..

one as a base speed (MSRP $29,695).. the other comes with tech pkg (MSRP $32,135).. (essentially the GT-E pkg)

What;s more on the Tech pkg?
Just navi?

29.5k for a MS3 is a best bang for the buck out there.
