When are you thinking of going next time? I'd be interested in going with someone rather than alone and not knowing anyone lol.

Lazor Sounds good, I will more then likely go up on the Wed the 9th or the 16th? It will be the last little tune up before
Solo 1 starts up (OTA)

Cheers

Keep me updated Fubawu. I'm trying to get a new set of tires before I go out. Everything else is good to go.

Will do, I am heading to the US next weekend to pick up my final parts Fuel pump and rear sway.
Should be good to go on the following weekend.

Been with Touge.ca once and did not like it at all. Track was packed with cars, I felt like I was in an actual race. I like when there's a couple cars on the track so I can actually give it a 100% and time myself without worrying someone will clip me.

Thanks for the invite though!

I rather go to a "mini meet" or something rather than payin' $90 to chill. It's Touge and it's at TMP, there's gonna be wayyyyy too many cars. I'd love to, if it was just an "open car lapping" from the actual track I would. Sorry my tm3 brethrens lol.

Do you time yourself on your own? How do you do that? Serious question.

Every friday is open lapping. It's much cheaper to go on a friday / saturday / sunday that doesn't have an event like CSCS or Togue going on. And it's way better, less morons and less people in general.
Friday nights at Cayuga are "Take it to the track fridays" Where the drag strip and track are open (for a small fee of course)

you can use a smartphone...iOS or Android

Harry's Lap Timer - one of the most popular on iOS (http://www.gps-laptimer.de/Home.html)

aLapRecorderHD (http://adyno.net/) - for Android. I've used this to make last year's track vids with data. Records video, bluetooth GPS and bluetooth OBD2 data on the phone. However, the developer has gone AWOL and it doesn't work well on ICS but fine on Gingerbread

Trackmaster (http://trackmaster.trackaroo.com/welcome) - for Android. I've used this as well. Not as "user friendly" as aLapRecorder but the dev is an avid track freak and is constantly updating. Also records video, bluetooth GPS but not OBD2 data, when compared to aLapRecorder

There are also standalone GPS units:

AIM Sports SOLO (http://www.aimsports.com/products/solo/index.html)

GTech Pro Fanatic (http://www.gtechpro.com/ss_fanatic.html)

There are options and, for the money, the smartphone ones offer a lot of value for the money (you've already paid for the phone so $5 or so for the app is a deal). If you decide to get a smartphone app, invest in an external 10 Hz GPS receiver... the internal 1 Hz GPS on a phone doesn't cut it when you're trying to improve in tenths and hundredths of a second.

There's also the ghetto method of a buddy with a stopwatch.

My buddy had an app on his iphone.......forget which one it was. I was thinking about doing the ghetto method of using a stopwatch but ended up using his phone.

Too bad it's not Friday. I'm working afternoons this week and I have Friday off.

Good luck at the event! My first event will be with SRTA @ Mosport on June 10th.
