This is a How To for installing the 06-07 WRX Chargespeed front lip on a Gen2 Mazdaspeed 3. took me about 4 hours to install and would have been easier with a second set of hands but with a little time and patience it looks great.

Equipment needed:
-Heat Gun
-Cordless drill
-Reciprocating saw or dremel
-Side cutters
-Philips screw driver/bit
-flat head screw driver
-extra pan head screws (i used more than what was supplied)
-Painters tape
-Black paint
-Couple beers

Overview of procedure:
-take the bumper off (Steps Here) (http://www.novustechnic.com/mazda3/horn_install/)
-Remove the 2 plastic lip pieces on the stock bumper
-line the lip up (it will be approx. 2" too long on each side)
-screw the lip down as centre as possible
-Mold the lip to the bumper as best a possible and screw in place
-Cut the extra 2" off with either a sawzall or dremel (i did it with the lip on the bumper)
-pin back the wings with either 3M tape or a bracket

In order to achieve these results, the process goes as follows:

STEP 1:
when the bumper is removed it will be attached by a wire harness on the left side (looking at the car) for the fogs, unplug them and start removing the wires from the clips on the bumper. I didn't know how to remove the grey clips so i got pissed and used a bit of force lol after removing the wire that goes across the bumper to the right fog (looking at the car) the bumper will come free.

STEP 2:
Remove the 2 plastic lip pieces on the bumper, they will be attached by rivets you can just cut them off with ease i think they'er made of aluminium

STEP 3:
mount the lip make it as centre as possible and screw it down starting from the centre outwards, at the same time you'll have to use the heat gun to position the lip in the right place on the bumper (last picture is the type of screws i was using)

http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/p555/mazdaspeedemon3/DSC02612.jpg

STEP 4:
once the lip is on and solid you can either remove it or leave it on to cut, i left it on because it took a wile to get on and i wasn't about to remove it.
this is what it looks like before i pinned the wings (make sure you don't hurt yourself wile cutting lol)

http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/p555/mazdaspeedemon3/DSC02608.jpg

STEP 5:
for pinning the wings, i used the heat gun to soften the plastic and made a bracket to pin them tight to the bumber. Also painted the screws and bracket black to blend in better. I also cut the end cap off and covered the hole at the back of the wings.

http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/p555/mazdaspeedemon3/DSC02644.jpg

STEP 6:
Cut the end cap off of the extra 2" piece of wing, use that to cover the hole and some of the bracket then used black caulking to fill in the holes.

STEP 7:
For going the extra mile get a can of black Plasti-dip and spray it down, 1 can should do about 4 coats. it covers up the cuts nicely and removed any imperfections in the lip

Thanks loki! Yeah the lip drops about 2" from the stock bumper, when I first backed out of my driveway I scraped a little, just needed more of an angle

Possibly, but I think the hwy traffic act says it just has to be visible but I'll have to review it. I'll cross that bridge when I get there :)

Sigh, had this front lip in my friend's basement the whole time and couldn't find time to install. Guess I won't be the only one with it lol. Nice job though!

thank you sir :)

this is the link (http://www.ebay.com/itm/2006-2007-Subaru-Impreza-WRX-STI-CS-Style-PU-Front-Bumper-Lip-Spoiler-Body-Kit-/380395060801?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Submodel%3AWRX&hash=item58914ffe41&vxp=mtr#ht_4440wt_1189) i used to purchase the lip.

came to $135 shipped plus $14 for the plasti-dip, if you've got a place in the states its much cheaper as shipping is free..

Thank you for the link.

Again I have to say what an incredible job you did on that modification; I didn't realize that the lip was actually for a WRX/STI and not a MS3.

Kudos mazdaspeedemon3 for an awesome job.
