Paying taxes when transferring "unfit" title car

Does anyone know how it works when you transfer ownership and register a car as unfit?

Are taxes still based on based on book value even though the car is unfit?

That's a good question. I'm pretty sure it would be the appraised value or valued at whatever you declare you paid for it.

yup you need an appraiser to give it validity.

Canadian Black book value or the wholesale value, whichever is higher. In the case of unfit you can use the appraised value.
