Hey guys. Believe it or not, the Rice Thread got me on this idea.

I'm bored at work... so this post is LONG

Idea:
Post up a list of the cars you wanted to buy throughout your life.
Not necessarily supercars, but cars you really liked, or caught your eye, and were like: If I could afford a new daily driver... i'd consider this" kinda thing.

I've liked a lot of HORRIBLE cars... but also some nice ones.

First Car I Remember Liking:
1990 - 5 years old - Oldsmobile "Betta" (Beretta)

I remember seeing this and really liking the tail lights, and the low front end. That's all I knew, I thought it just looked cool. I also threw a tennis ball at one during recess, which made me notice it for the first time.

1993 - 8 Years old - Sunfire, In Metallic Blue.

I don't like the convertable, but this is the color, and I liked these tail lights (they went through a few changes)
Its sad that this was 2http://images.gtcarlot.com/pictures/32445176.jpg

1995, 10 years old - 1992 Camry V6 LE
This was my dads car. We were on the 401 heading to ottawa and we got it north of 180kph. It taught me that fast is fun.
It ended up being my "first" car as well. (I shared it with my mom)

1999, 14 years old - 1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (in blue again)
Something about the back tail lights, and the really curved glass. I saw cruising around with friends. There was this MINT one with chrome rims and limo tint in brampton, I swear he waxed it daily. it looked pretty damn nice.

2001, 16 years Old - Mid 90's Lexus SC
I got a ride home in one from a job, and it was awesome. What's not to like?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v646/Murco/0015.jpg

2002, 17 years old - 1992 Camry V6LE
The camry again. Once I started driving it, I loved it.

2004, 19 years old 2002 Audi A4 quattro
Loved the styling. Audi to me was an old persons car until I saw this. To me, this is still an amazing look that has aged really well
http://images.carparts.com/design/assets/roadtests/audia4/images/front.jpg

2005, 20 years old 2005 Saturn Ion Red Line
Until I figured out GM was shit (and so was saturn... which I guess GM figured out on its own)
I almost bought one, but held off on buying a car and saved some money.

2007, 22 years old... Mazda3 Sedan, GT. In blue.
I was looking for a car, Mazda seemed to fit the bill. Couldn't afford the GT, but ended up falling for Carbon Mica. Still like the blue, but don't regret Carbon Mica.

2008, 23 years old Mazda CX7
Sexiest looking SUV at the time. had also gotten stuck trying to get to the cottage in my Mazda3, Figured this would solve all my problem and bring world peace.
http://www.greymotorsmazda.com/images/2010/CX7.jpg

2009, 24 years old - 2007+ Acura TL Type S
I still want this car. Its sexy. I want the Type S, simply becasue its the only model that comes in manual. Practical, but awesome.

2010, 25 years old - 2010 Ford Fusion V6 Sport AWD
Almost traded in my car for a 2010 Ford Fusion V6 Sport AWD, with all the bells and whistles.
http://blog.healyford.ca/images/2010_fusion_sport_black.jpg

2011, 26 Years old - 2011 Suzuki Kizashi, AWD
Was (still am) looking for an AWD Sedan thats decent on gas, drives well and comfortable, and still can handle. Its actually still on my mind as an option.
its distinct, "rare" and drives really nice. But... I'm afraid it'll fall apart or suzuki will abandon the N/A market so I never jumped.
http://www.themotorreport.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/2010-suzuki-kizashi-04-thumb.jpg

Current 28 years old - Jetta/Passat TDI OR Buick Verano 2.0T 6Spd
jetta would be the more practical. But the teenage petrol-head likes the idea of a turbo powered 260hp rocket with heated steering wheel and
I'm looking for something comfortable, Quiet, and great on the highway. Ability to take on some decent snow would be good as well, but I like sedans as opposed to SUV's/CUV's

The TL did come in manual in non type S. But only the 2005 and it was a special edition which came with Brembos. Thats the only year though.

I didn't really care for the 05-06 TL's. I like the fogs and license plate and Tail lights of the 07+

I've always been a big fan of 70s and 80s 911's, MK1&2 Rabbits and GTI's, 88-91 Civic si's and crx's, the E30 M3 (had one and it was a nightmare), Datsun 510 coupes, fox body mustangs, 1970 Boss 302, 1970 Challenger T/A's and AAR Cuda's, 1969 Superbee just off the top of my head.

240sx, 32 nissan gtr, 300zx, el camino, c10 hakosuka just to list a few. it was weird for me growing up liking older cars while everyone else liked new sports cars. im not particular to JDM or USDM or euro. as long as the car has a special something, ill like it. i just lean a bit towards japanese cars because of the crazy range of aftermarket scene. im the kind of guy who would rather have a older special limited type of car than a newer mass produced car

also use to be a big fan of the 46 bmw m3. that was the car that started it all for me as a car guy back in 05.

my plan is to have a historic car, and an older sports DD. when i have a family, ill add in a modified van. but thats waaaaaay down the road.

1981 trams am ( 15 years old)
1989-1992 mustang cobras ( 16 years old x 3)

I'm a bit embarrassed to say the first car I remember liking was a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT
http://images.gtcarlot.com/pictures/65038585.jpg

Then I saw a 2004 Mazda3 GT (sedan) and have been loving the Mazda design from 2004-2009. RIP Mazda :( lol

Currently I don't like any (reasonably priced) cars on the market. FR-S would have sold me, but I just hate the interior compared to my ms3.

FYI, the picture of a "Sunfire" is actually a Sunbird - I believe it was on the same chassis as the Beretta.

Growing up in a somewhat unconventional asian family, we only owned American cars. As such, I developed a liking for a lot of them till they started churning out low-quality eco-buckets instead of sturdy and relatively well-built cars.
Z22 (Beretta), Z24 (Cavalier), Z34 (Lumina), S/C GrandPrix GTP, etc...

( dont ask me why I just had a thing for this back then)
http://cars-database.com/data_images/models/chrysler-pt-cruiser/chrysler-pt-cruiser-02.jpg

:gone

Ages 10-14: Saturn Astra ( because euro-style hatch)

Ages 14-18: Ford Crown Victoria CVPI ( because you could get one for cheap and I did not see any car past 5k for my first car at the time)

May/June of this year: Lada Niva

but then I was concerned about reliablity and safety and I dont think parents would let me get it.

Ended up with a 2008 Mazda 3 Sport ( did not see this coming) ( at the time i was also looking at an 08 Jetta but the cost of ownership drove me away from that).

Haha, Yeah. Oh SunBird. my Aunt had one that I liked.

Its awesome how "bad" cars seemed cool when we were little. Guess we didn't know any better.

But... as a teenager, Any car with 4 wheels would have sufficed.

In my really early years 8-14 my sister drove a 1990 Honda Civic hatchback. I liked it. I thought one day i'd buy one in metalic blue.

Then when i turned 15 the PT Cruiser came out. And due to my love of the Godfather, i really liked that car. It reminded me of those Fords from the 1940's. Meh, what did i know.

I still wish i had gotten the chance to drive a PT Cruiser, even if people hate that car.
