i'm getting the sensor codes P0131 and P2251. from researching it looks like i have to replace my front o2 sensor. can you recommend me a place to buy a new one. it can be aftermarket and also a shop to replace the sensor, preferably in the east end
Thanks

Pick an affiliate dealer nearest to you. Call or go in for pricing.

They usually have to bring them in which takes 1 or 2 days
Given that its a long weekend, he's likely in a real jam
PM Celestspeed3, he usually stocks the sensors. At least for the speed3, maybe he has mazda3 sensors lying around as well

But like S.F.W said, call around the affiliate dealerships tomorrow early. They can probably source you one by Saturday

i got the bosch ones from a supplier here in ottawa, 75$ for one and 70$ for the other, dealer wanted 195 for one and 230 for the other, so ya dont go with dealer ones if youre trying to save money.
as for install, dealer quoted me 55$ each to replace, which isnt too bad. going to do some work this weekend on the car and if its easy enough, ill replace them. if its too hard, dealer is doing it

called avante mazda. they have the part in stock but it's 215 minus 15% for being a TM3 member. i may have no choice but to buy it from them

i called a couple of shops found on this forum. which shop would you recommend? speedtech auto parts or speedtech performance innovations.
speedtech autoparts quoted me 20-30 bucks
speedtech performance quoted me 50-60 bucks

sounds like they both have quoted for the wrong part, because there is no way the primary O2 sensor is that cheap.
and at $70, Gabby got one hell of a deal. If you pay $150 to $180 I'd say that's not that bad.

Is this the upstream 02 sensor? $100 bucks at part source.
$170 after discount at MOT.
I need to replace mine as well.

sounds like you have a 2006-2009 Mazda 3.
The NTK O2 sensors (NTK makes the OEM sensors) on Rock Auto (www.rockauto.com) are different part numbers for 2004-2005 (cheaper at $79 for both upstream and downstream) and 2006-2009 ($210 for the upstream).
If that's the case, your best bet is getting it from Avante with the TM3 discount.

the prices from the shop is the cost of labor. i'm buying the part myself. i was able to price match partsource with hotspot auto. price for the o2 sensor is 120ish. it's NGK part # 24355
