Replacing Front Grill

Hey all, i\'m still waiting on my car to come in and think that it\'s stuck in the port in Vancouver. I got the base model GX with the CP and am not sure I will like the front grill. I really like the one that comes on the GT. Any idea if it is possible to change the grill and where to get it?:)

I may be wrong, but I\'m pretty sure that as long as you buy the new grill for the same type of car (sedan or hatchback) as the one you\'ve ordered, it will be a simple bolt-on. Unfortunately, your only place to get the new grill will be through the dealership.

You may want to consider the MazdaSpeed Mesh Grille. You\'ll have to import it from Japan I think... Might be able to find it on some Mazda Accessories websites too.

Ebay would be great but only if I know this is a doable mod. Don\'t really want to invest money if it won\'t work. I heard that on the hatchbacks the grill is connected to the hood. Is this the case?

The hatchback grill bolts to the hood while the sedan one bolts to the bumper. You cannot interchange these 2. BTW there are 2 GT models for the sedan, the GFX has side skirts, sporty bumpers, 17\" wheels, sport grill, and sport foglamps. The base GT has standard grill, 16\" wheels, and foglights.

As for the Mazdaspeed grill I would make sure you get one for the sedan only.

This is on the Mazdaspeed Axela A-Spec in Japan. I\'m sure you can find it somewhere.

Unfortunately, the MazdaSpeed Axela only comes in a hatch form. Hence the name \"Mazda3 Sport\"

If you\'re talking about the one Xenon linked the pic to, then correct, it is ONLY for the hatch.

The reason for that is because the Mazdaspeed Axela A-Spec in Japan is a Hatch only.

Does anyone know where is a good place to buy a grill for the mazda3 sport like the one posted above?

I don\'t know if you would call this a \'good\' place to buy it, but it\'s the only one I can think of. You would have to import it from Japan and it\'s gonna cost an arm and a leg. A painted front grill is already listed at $588.12 CAD. This obviously does not include S&H and duties.

just wait... I think that $500+ is INSANE! Soon MANY companies will offer nice grills, look at the VW guys... tons of grills. Parts are rare right now so its all supply and demand! :)

hey flipspeed my friends jus ordered A Body Coloured Grill for his 3 hes got the GS but they got him those you just showed but he wanted the ones from the gt the gs one was $118
and the ones for the gt are $180 i believe

Remember there are 2 GT models in the sedan line. The base GT has the standard grille while the GT with GFX has the sport grille. For example the Titanium Grey grille will cost you around $160.00. Easy to install so no worry about the labour.

Your cheapest option right now is Ebay, there\'s a guy selling one right now, and yes you will need to do some triming.
