Here are a few shots of the box. I hope to have the system in very shortly.

The quality is top notch, and the unit is held in by a bolt that goes into the stock hole, where the jack holder goes. Any questions feel free to ask.

Did you make that yourself or is that the one that you can buy from the guy in the US who is a member of another Mazda 3 forum?

I bought it off of the guy (CrzyOne01) Phil on Mazda3Forums.com. I am ver pleased with the fit.

I have done a bit of fiberglass work, but the materials/labour, and cost if a mistake is made is large lol. So I just bought one, and saved the hassle.

-Now I need to find an good 8\"

How much did that set you back? If yo don\'t mind my asking. How does it stay in the cavity?

I\'ve only seen on 8\" sub I\'ve seen was an MB Quart Reference sub up at Auto Sound Design in Markham.

In the fourth picture down you can see the hole. Then the new bolt goes into the same place that the bolt for the jack went. (Does that make sense? lol). The cost of the box was $70US shipped, but UPS bent me over for $40 at the boarder. Even still, to have a shop make it, it would cost more.

Many companies make 8\" subs.. Kicker, JL (even in a W7), RF, MB Quart, Eclipse, MTX etc :)

LOL I\'m curious to know because I\'d like to have an enclosure as well since I need 99% of my cargo space for my ice hockey but at the same time, I like my music with heavy-bass! :)

As for the jack... well, we ARE covered by three years road-side assistance correct? But still... better to have than not to have. :p

Anyone see Harold and Kumar? \"Dude, where\'s my spare tire?!?\"

Hey,

On M3F the guys are putting the jack in the spare tire, and it sits over the bolt holding the tire in, so it doesnt rattle around. So the jack is in the car and not bouncing around... thats what sold me :)

~JOHN

Wtom - an 8\" sub will not give you HEAVY bass :p

DOH... guess I really need to rid my spare and plant a 12\" sub in the empty space there! hehehe... j/k

I am going from 2 12\" Eclipse Alum. subs (VERY high end) and a 772Watt MTX amp... I shall miss my bass :)

does the jack have to be moved for that to fit? (I would think so)

What about a 10\" sub?
Do you think there\'s enough room to build a custom enclosure for a 10 :)

I\'d be interested in one if possible...

Not without cutting. thats what I was reading on the M3F boards. Most DVC 8\" subs wont fit in here, its TINY!
