Mazda Mobile Start - MMS System to Replace Remote Starters

I'm really excited about the MMS System. It will be taking over the job of our current Remote Starter system with the giant Fobs. Although they are a great 2 way device....being able to start your car from your phone seems way cool.

Details

Mazda Mobile Start: Enables you to start your vehicle from virtually anywhere you get cellphone reception. Also has additional functions for Lock/Unlock, Panic alarm & Car finder
Components: like our current remote starter, MMS requires the installation of components in the vehicle (Main Unit & Antenna Kit).
App: download app on Smartphone and register for a paid subscription on a credit card (first year of subscription is complimentary)

Looks like it will be applicable for 2016 CX-5 & 2016 Mazda6, upcoming CX-3 & 2016 Mazda3 and available for most Android and Apple Smartphones.

When more details come available I'll let you know. Pricing is not concrete yet. There will be a website dedicated to this system in the near future.


Looks like it will be a great move for Mazda to help you answer the important questions like....Did I lock it? How long has my car been running? and of course....Where the h*** did I park?

It's true. Not confirmed yet but they expect the subscription costs to be that. Not sure how John knows.....

UPDATE:

MMS is now available from dealers. In the initial launch phase, the MMS app will be compatible with the 2016 Mazda6 and CX-5. It will also be available on the upcoming 2016 CX-3 and 2016 Mazda3.

I saw that the subscription of the service is roughly $75 per year, but what is the cost for the initial installation of the unit in the car?

I was wondering if there was going to be someone who did that! I'm torn...It seems much easier to use the app (for the life of me I can't get the run time to change on the fob) but my phone is always dead so I don't love the idea of having to rely on it.
