rockauto.com
Even with our crappy dollar and shipping rates its still 25-30% cheaper that getting something stupid like plugs here in Canada.
And greyseason has over 200k on his 2012 sky.

just go to the dealer. even more so for the sky. we had tons of problems when I worked at mazda with cars that had aftermarket plugs. and its not like they are that much more expensive at the dealer. kimy27

No. My car has 82000km.
Check engine light turns on yesterday.
I scaned my car. Cylinder #4 misfire detected.
However. I didnt feel any difference. It is same as before.
I disconnect and reconnect car battery. Then CEL turned off.
so far so good.
just in case. I want to change iginition coil and spark plug and electric line.

Quoted for truth!
They are $42.59 each. Also if you are changing them yourself make sure you have the right socket. They are smaller than regular spark plugs.

Try not to throw parts at it.
Diagnose the issue.
First swap the coil from cyl 4 to cyl 1.
Still showing cylinder 4 misfire?
Pull the plug and inspect it. If okay - swap it for cyl 1.
I'm not sure what the OEM plugs are, but you can call the dealer and ask or just pull a plug out. I'm sure rock auto has it... The most expensive plug they list for the 2012 is $13.
But if you wanna spend $43 go for it.

It's a 14mm socket. I just use a magnet to pull it out. I can't believe how pricey they are. But you can only get the right ones from the dealer. I have tried ALL my suppliers and no one else could get me the proper ones.

I stand corrected then.
Who makes the OEM plugs for the Sky, Ryan?
And I'm sure they are iridium/laser iridium?

OEM are NGK or Denso. (I dont think i've seen one car yet with the Denso's in them though)

None of my suppliers can even get those. I tried all those numbers with them. All they send me are the wrong ones (regular 2.0L plugs.

where are they 40 bucks each? I don't remember charging 160 for plugs alone when I worked at buds. don't even think they were 20 bucks each. but still for the amount of times you will change them nothing wrong with getting the right ones as an investment

Maybe they went up in price? That's the current cost for the PE01-18-110 (NGK)
Still cheaper than the hassle factor with the wrong plugs.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ADVICE.
My car(2012 mazda 3 gs sky) has 82000km.
Check engine light turned on yesterday.
I scaned my car. Cylinder #4 misfire detected.
However. I didnt feel any difference. It is same as before.
my car is still under powertrain warrant.
I brought my car to dealer service department.
Unfortunately, powertrain warrant does not cover ignition system (spark plug and ignition coil).
So, I have to pay $110 for diagnosis and $170 for 4 spark plugs and $190 for ignition coil.
It costs me a lot.
I disconnected and reconnected car battery yesterday. Then CEL turned off.
I have driven for 400km after that. CEL does not turn on.
just in case. I want to change iginition coil and spark plug and electric line.

Do not let a miss fire go for long. It will eventually destroy the catalytic converter. And that is big bucks.
If you have not, fix the car soon.

If Check Engine Light turns on again, I will fix my car.

I reset engine code by disconnecting car battery yesterday.
and I have driven 400 km after that.
Fortunately, CEL have not turned on since I reset engine code.

Well, I don't know if people were hitting 120k on the sky when you were still there were they Booter22
I changed my plugs from a wrecked car with 10000km on it. So I didn't buy new, but that was my cost even. I wasn't spending 160 for plugs

greyseason has over 200k on his 2012 and I'm already to 113k. It's not that unreasonable.
Second everyone with going to the dealer for the plugs.

If you guys want to buy aftermarket sparkplug for 2012 mazda 3 gs sky, go this site.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Champion-Spark-Plug-9412-Iridium-Spark-Plug-/271572819954

For the love of all and anything that is holy, do not put Champion spark plugs in anything that runs on gas.
They are not OK for anything. Even VW uses NGK spark plugs.
Trust me, one spark plug does not fit 634 applications.
