I notieced that if I coast down a hill at a moderate speed (maybe 60km/h) in neutral and rev the engine (whilst still in neutral) the car seems to slow a bit. Is there any explanation for this? It doesn\'t bother me but it leaves me wondering as to what would cause this.

For those of you who have the 5MT...do you ever notice this on your car?

First of all, why would you want to do this??? The car should always be in gear... Were you just experminting or something??

And the reason why you slow down is simply caused by drag. Tire and wind resistense. It would be a different story if our cars were heavy, but they\'re not.

I remember when we had our old 88 Buick Electra Estate Wagon! You go down hill off the gas and you\'ll still be accelerating! lol :)

Other than that, try to keep the car in gear... No point in doing these type of experiments... Try to take a corner at a speed you think can\'t be done... That\'s a better experiment! ;)
