View Full Version : Missing in the 2005!

At the office I\'ve had the 2004 brochure sitting on the desk behind me for a while.. well I just flipped through it and noticed that the 2004 had knobs to open/close the center vents. Those of you who have the 2004, do you have them, or is the image in the book from a non-Canadian model? The reason I ask is because the 2005 doesn\'t have them! Shouldn\'t they add features instead of take them away?
I guess we did get the Sat button which I think would be a fair exchange if it actually did something! Now they\'ve put the FM1/FM2/AM on the same button, so in effect we lost the AM button :p
Something else others have mentioned elsewhere is that the 2005 also doesn\'t get the 2.3 badges.
Anyone else notice things missing?

2004s don\'t have those either, makes sense since most of the photos in the brochure use the dash from a non-North American Mazda3 or Axela (see the dials for the automatic climate control, same as in the 2004 brochure).
Mazdas use to have a button that would cause the vanes in the center console air ducts oscilate back and forth. That was cool! Literally.

Check out the centrefold of the 2004 brochure - the climate controls and everything else seem to be from the Canadian model, thats why I asked :p

Only euro-spec has dials to open/close the centre vents (even JDM doesn\'t have them).
All photos in the brochure are photoshopped in some way from base pictures that are not necessarily Canadian-spec (actually 99% of the time it is not, and this applies to all manufacturers). They just forgot to photoshop the dials out.

I noticed too that for a couple of front end shots, they simply used the same photos as in the 2004 brochure but changed the colour of the fog lights from the regular white to a more yellow light.

Aren\'t the fogs the same between the two years?

They are but in the 2005 brochure they\'re yellow.

They also got rid of the 2.3 badges in the 05 brochure.

With the 04\'s they didn\'t come with them, but they\'d add them at the first service usually.
