Hi folks,

I don't think this is a widespread issue in my search, but has anyone with the newer 3's experienced this issue where the wipers in auto mode will not function smoothly during its "operational arc"?

Timing is random, and for the 10% of the time it decides not to work well, it will be very jittery and take much slower to complete one full cycle.

We had issues with our 2015 when it was brand new.

I texted the Service manager at the dealer we got it (friend of ours) and he said to bring it in. 2 days later, went to go to work in the morning and the sensor was hanging from the wire. They replaced the whole windshield as the sensor is part of the windshield. They tried to glue it back but it fell again. after the replacement we had 0 issues.

its possible you may have the same issue but not as severe? We noticed basically the same issues you have when we first got the car.

I say take it back to the dealer and get them to fix it while its under warranty.

IMO automatic wipers are something Mazda still has yet to do properly.

On both a 2005 & 2015 -

Not jittery or slow, but they come on for absolutely no reason and also they can't figure out what speed to wipe at. I find them more of a problem and most of the time have to manually flick the wiper switch.

So they still haven't fixed their auto wipers ten years later, smh.

I hate the auto wipers on my '05 Mazda, worst friggen things ever.

Give me standard intermittent thank you, or the choice.
