when starting revs up to 2000 rpm , normal?

Hi when i start my gx it revs a little bit up to 2000 rpm then quickly goes down to normal idle.

Is this normal?

i don\'t own a GX, but this sounds normal on a cold start-up. it helps the cat get to operating temp faster

I\'ve got the GS and on cold morning starts, in the fall in winter, my car revs up to over 1500 and slowly drops to normal as the car warms...

Yes, this is normal. It helps with warming up the car.:)
