Those prices aren\'t too bad but I can get the Pro kit for $300 total, so a little bit cheaper.

Blunt,

I am not sure of the drops for our car as I havent looked into springs. Although, when it comes to Eibach, The Pro-Kit generally offers 1.0-1.7\" drop and the Sportline usually drops 1.7-2.5\". I think thos numbers are fairly accurate.

For those looking to grab the Sportline, yes you get a lower drop, and yes there is a good chance your struts will fail much quicker.

You should get new struts no matter which one you pick, unfortunitly there\'s none available right now

Sportline is the lower drop at 1.8\".
The Pro kit is like 1.3\" or sumthing like that...

Guys, I have the prokit installed on my ride, the difference between sportline and prokits is the fact that prokits are a progressive spring, while sportlines are linear.

Progressive springs, mean your car wont bounce around while going over bumps, as each coil on the spring has a different tension setting, and it \"eases\" the car back to its original stance after a bump. With a linear (sportline) spring your car will hop back to its original stance as all the coils have the same tension setting.

Well, im gonna say this here, like I said on the US board:

Nobody has blown their struts by lowering on their Mazda3 yet. All these opinions are from people who owned Civics before and bought Ractive $100 coilovers and slammed their cars right down the 4\"!
I have sold coils and springs to MANY, MANY, owners of different cars and tonnes fo them never blow struts. Most Mazda struts in general can take a beating (alot of pre-Mazda3 struts were actually built by Tokico).
A general rule of thumb is to replace struts if you can afford them, otherwise, any lowering LESS than 2\" you will be ok....

i would love to have onee.. but where can i get them installed??

Kris,

I agree that it is not 100% needed to replace the struts. BUT on a lower drop (like the Sportline) your struts will wear out faster. It is inevitable becuase when the car is lowered the strut is compressed constantly. While 1.3\" isnt much of a drop the 2\" or so that the Sportline lowers is enough. Also the coils are not progressive, which will cause the car to bounce. Another reason they will wear out the struts faster.

ahh these springs are confusing me

if the sportslines are progressive aswell why are they cheaper?
wouldnt it be the lower the ride height the more money you pay?

i would never lower my car....its low enough already ...seriously its easy to scrape the front and especially during winter i noticed that it hits almost every short rut, once a civic and a corrolla pased over this slightly larger than snowball piece of snow (from someones fenderwell, i guess) and my car hit it, ive hit tons of those...cant really brake or dodge it in traffic so u just cringe...

the handling is amazing on this car and the only thing that ive experienced is that it feels a bit top heavy when ure driving is a bit more spirited...liek dashing accross lanes of highway in a zigzag at about ***km/h during heavy braking...and thats it

relax.. come on.. for the past week this thread has been in the top 3 of this subforum. if someone was interested they\'d sign up. i bet you the biggest deterrent is a) winter b) no AM struts..

You guys forgot to mention uneven tire wear. Some 3\'s already have negative camber to begin with. They do look good when they\'re dropped though.
