The Konis have been in development forever - I wonder when they\'ll ever release them.

I have the MS shocks on order...I\'ll let you guys know how well they work as soon as they go on!

edit: the stock shocks aren\'t nearly as bad as everyone makes them seem - I\'ve been running the AutoExe springs (2\"/1.2\" drop) on the stock shocks since last July and have put over 25000km on them without any problems. It still rides like exactly like stock. I\'ve had people ride in my car and they never knew it was lowered.

edit2: also I just remembered that Bilstein has the B6 and B8 Sprint for our cars (it\'s available right now - recently released) - but only in Europe...I haven\'t seen any source where I can order them here though

Just received the Mazdaspeed struts & shocks from Rosenthal. They said the shocks/struts are 15-20% stiffer than stock and would work fine with my Eibachs. My stock shocks are ok so far, but if I go over dips on the highway at high speeds, then you can feel that the stock shocks are a little soft. If you drive aggressive, then consider coilovers. I\'ll let you know how the Mazdaspeeds feel.

MK, are you talking about the TEIN springs, or the TEIN Basic coilovers.You have them on your car, or are you planning to get some.

I still thinking which I would get? coilover or just springs. of course $$ is the main issue.:p

may be just buy the springs right now, then shocks later? or saving up until I get coilover? which one will you guys choose?

Autoexe, the shocks came in 4 business days. Quite fast, unfortunately from UPS only. UPS charged an additional $140 at my door! When I ordered the shocks, the exchange rate was really good. After conversion, the shocks came to $585 Cdn. Too bad UPS is a rip off.

Damn UPS...I was thinking about get those too but I\'ll have to look elsewhere because I refuse to pay the crazy UPS fees.

Yes FoMoCo makes a lot of the suspension parts for both the 3 and the 6.

Hey Clem when are you going to sell me your springs?

I\'d love to, but unfortunately Profusion has dibs on them already. He was the first one to ask so he gets them.

I got the Teins and MS shocks installed today. The car is now even lower and a rides a lot stiffer - I don\'t mind but I could see it becoming a problem for some - I can feel a lot more bumps on the road.

Conering has improved even more over my old setup of springs on stock shocks. I took an onramp rated at 30km/h at 90km/h and the car felt planted! Now it really handles on rails. I\'d say it\'s as good if not better as a stock Mini Cooper right now. Love it!

It looks nice! :)
I was thinking to lower mine but didn\'t want to give up too much of ride quality. I think the xtra stiffness mainly comes from the Mazdaspeed shocks/struts right?

BTW, where did you install them and how much?

///M
04-22-2005, 02:16 PM
If you run the stock shocks it will ride like stock - the stiffness comes from the shocks.

I got them installed for $150 at a shop called Motor Workshop in Markham (19 Laidlaw near Hwy7/McCowan). A friend referred me there and they did a great job!

I believe Motor Workshop is the one has a yellow painted floor? The owner (Vincent) is very honest and only recommands the things I need to change/repair (old ride).

$150 is great price.

They have a grey floor but a yellow/grey logo. They were installed by Vincent...great service! I\'d recommend them 100%.

Autoexe; thanks... i love that drop. Looks very nice.

Now its killing me even more to put them on :(

///M
04-22-2005, 11:45 PM
np ;)

Put them on now! I think the stock shocks should last you at least a year or two and they actually ride more comfortably than the Mazdaspeeds.
