Does this sound like a good deal...

M3 demo, 2004 Sport GS (red) with automatic & air: $22,300
(approx. $1200 off dealer\'s \"sticker\" price). Includes freight, etc. ($925) but not taxes.

The car is 6 months old and has 11,000 km. Last year\'s financing rates apply (about 1% less) for 48 or 60 months.

Considering the price of the M3 didn\'t go up in 2005... would it be better to look at a new one instead??

I don\'t think that\'s a good deal ...
I\'ve a friend recently got a new GS sedan w/ power package (probably auto and A/C were added as well) for $23,200.
Better shop around ;)

Not good especially with what chaser mentioned above plus the fact this was a demo car (ie. people have probably driven the car pretty hard). It\'s 11,000km old but the wear and tear may be more than that.

Take your money and RUN. Thats a rip-off.

When I was shopping for a GS w/power & sport package, most of the quotes were ~$25,500 OTR. Thats fully loaded.

Yeah i would agree you are getting owned with that quote

I got 05 sport GT w/ leather, cd player, air, sunroof, 5spd with tints for 27530 OTR.

It had 1.2km , a week later it has ~1250km haha

Well here\'s the thing... the dealership is giving us $3500 for our \'98 Ford Taurus which is blackbooked between 2500-4000. They originally started by offering us 2300 for it, so they think that\'s their \"deal\", offering a reasonable price on the trade in... so what do I do? I\'ve already put a deposit on the demo but I\'m going to try and renegotiate for a 2005...

What\'s considered a reasonable price for a 2005 Sport GS w/auto & air *before* tax? (In otherwords how much off the MSRP of $22390 should I be getting?)

(And yes I know... I\'m a newbie car buyer so I didn\'t quite go about this the right way!) :-(

Which dealership are you negotiating with? Even though you have put a deposit down I don\'t believe that you are locked in. You haven\'t taken delivery yet.

What you can do is cancel the deal. The most they can make you pay is the \"documentation fee\" its about $399 . The rest of the deposit you can ask for it back. But in goodwill they can refund the whole thing back to you. <--- got that from CityPulse.

I think you can get a GT w/GFX & Auto, for under $25,000 OTR with the TRADE-IN of the taurus.

IF all else fails, call Prima Mazda 905-850-8111 and give them your best price. They should have no problems beating it. Best deal I could find when shopping for my GT. They\'re kinda far at Hwy 427 & Hwy 7, but well worth the drive no *BS*.

Ouch....Well try renegotiating, but I think you may be stuck!!! :(

I was going to say... Call Jeff Holley at Avante Mazda, give him my name.... He can give you a great price... I don\'t know whether you can.... but so far all people I have sent over have been more than satisfied with the result and purchased their car with him....

Thanks everyone for the input... I\'m actually in Montreal (an imposter! lol - but there aren\'t any English M3 clubs around here) I\'m heading back to the dealership tonight... wish me luck!

it doesn\'t hurt to call and maybe they could fax you an offer. either way if you deal with avante tell them Christine (Saphress) sent you or me (majic) [or that you heard of their dealership on TM3] and someone will take care of you :)

Sounds like you guys have found some good deals!! I may just have to check it out next time... (when I plan to *not* go about this ass-backwards - ha!) ;)

Final result - they took another $500 off - so I guess it\'s not bad. $21800-$3500 trade-in, 18300 plus tax, about $21045 OTR.

Wish they would have thrown in an MP3 player though... :D

Just for a side note....Find out when the in servic date is for the car your looking at...if it is a demo and was registered 6 months ago...that means you would only get 2 years and 6 months of warrenty (of 80,000 kms)....so think about it

Cosmo

...might be better to shop around for a better price...but then I drive a 92 Camry with 3000000000km\'s on it and have worked for Mazda for 10 years

Hi I\'m hearing all this talk about great deals at Avante.I\'m looking to purchase like right now.(I\'m driving a 91 with 300000kms and it is literally on its last legs). What are we talking about here? What about some numbers?....It would be nice to see particulars such as Model+options+any freebees and on the road price.
I\'m looking to get the M3 Sport GT anyone give me some prices?

Much Appreciated :)

You can check Carcostcanada.com, pay the $30 and get the invoice price and then negotiate up on that. I think there\'s a thread with \"what you paid\" in here somewhere.

I faxed my quote to all the 905/416 Mazda dealers and said I wanted to get it right away and need the best price possible and if they had inventory. Prima Mazda had the best price and they got my business.

It is *fabulous* ;) ... Love the feel of the car and the handling... Also I\'ve managed to stuff a suprising amount of cr** in the (hatch) trunk, including a stroller and mounds of groceries. :)

A couple of things though... it seems a bit slow to shift when I first start the car (feels like it needs a few minutes to warm up?) and I\'m tall so the tilted headrest bugs me... I\'m tempted to remove it but that\'s a safety no-no. Also the controls for the lights/wipers etc. take some getting used to, coming from a Ford. Overall I\'m very happy though! Now I just need to learn how to use the tiptronic shifting so I can pretend I know how to drive stick - ha!. :D
