Hey Flipspeed,
Just out of curiousity, what would it cost to have some of 2006 options installed into our models?
Such as:
- Addition of exterior temperature gauge on all trim levels
- Trip computer with fuel economy/range, and average speed data (GS/GT)

At this point no one is sure if it would even work. There are a lot of people here, including myself, that would like to add the ambient temp sensor to a 2004/05 model, but I\'m not sure if it\'s plug and play. Once I find out the sensor can be bought seperately, I will be trying it out.Quote:

But 2004\'s and 2005\'s had ambient temp. sensor in other countries; why do we need a new HU?
That\'s true MK, I recall seeing the outline of the ambient temp on the display during certain lighting conditions.
Maybe the \"electronic stuff\" needed to actually display the temp is not there, that\'s why a new HU is needed...
can you confirm this majic? or is it just speculation so far.
I believe the LCD panel is not the same in the two panels......the 2006\'s have a trip computer on the far left side while the 04\'s and 05\'s have something else there (clock maybe, I can\'t remember).
although I may be wrong, we need to change the ECU for all the trip computer, outside temp kind of stuff, parts and wiring and labour could cost a lot, it wont\' be plug & play.
it\'s not the LCD that is of concern, it\'s the HU..

see the differences? the buttons are all there but different functions for each of the buttons.
