This is going to sound insane.... but...
Sometimes when it's cold out, and I don't let my car warm up for too long (temp gauge is still all the way at the bottom) and I need to step on the gas to get up to speed quick, there's this weird burning smell that lasts for a couple of minutes. It's not a bad burning smell, like nothing is catching fire, but it just smells kinda like, intense, burnt toast...
Anyone else experience this? Or am I just always about to have a seizure?

LMAO!!! That IS me... I start to get all panicky and upset when I smell it....
ahhahahah okay this is serious though!!! Should I be concerned??? (For my CAR.... or maybe for me.... I'm not sure anymore.)
Did you have it rust-proofed recently? Mine always smells after that!
hmmm it was probably in November maybe? When I had warranty paint work done on my car they put some sort of gooey rust proofing substance on my wheel wells.... You think that could be it? You're smells like toast too?? :chuckle
I only smell it when I accelerate hard though without warming up... and it's gone again in a minute or two. So weird!!!!!!
I just remember a while back when I ran some fuel injector cleaner, my car smelled funny after running for a long time. Hopefully that was just impurities making its way out of the car.
its probably the cat doing something weird since it's not completely warmed up and just gunning the gas dumps fuel into the exhaust

LOL OMG Ashley... I made a post like this a while ago my car smelled like baking bread... LOL burning toast, baking bread. Whats going on ??
I think you need to be easy on the gas... driving hard on a cold engine isn't good for the engine and definitely not the exhaust.... it's not just the cat's life is greatly reduced, but water condensation will also rot it inside out (due to not driving it long enough)!
