Personally, I wouldn't advise trying any temporary fixes for any jack. Either toss it, return it, or buy new.
Faulty seal.
Return it to CT and ask for a replacement. With or without the receipt, you shouldn't have a problem.
Can't go wrong, if you plan on keeping the car.
