Well, I now have a Machine Gray AWD Turbo Mazda 3 sedan sitting in my driveway!
Saw that, looks like Zoom Zoom might be making a return!
Still would suspect linkage adjustment. Bushing replacement likely involved removing part of the linkage.
Common gripe about the turbo! I came across an explanation on why from Dave Coleman. Unlike a regular turbo engine the torque of the Skyactiv turbo peaks at relatively low RPM and then drops off....
Reverse switch is located in the transmission. So light not coming on = transmission not in reverse. Issue is probably the linkage isn't correctly adjusted. What was done to fix the "not starting in...
GT sedan AWD turbo. I did consider a more basic trim level, especially as I now drive less (2 days a week WFH) but I do want to enjoy it. I'm not quite ready for a basic Corrolla yet!
I'm waiting to get my hands on a '24 3. And yes, will be a bit sad to see the '08 go...
My '08 is running out of time too. Hard to let it go after so long! Are you replacing yours with anything?
it's like a ghost-town here!
And it's June. And it's 2023. Urk.
Likely water intrusion into the door.
The problem is likely a bad master cylinder or failed ABS module.... I would be careful driving it until you get it completely checked. If the "handbrake" warning light is on when the handbrake is...
I still lurk a little bit. Still have my '08 as my daily driver, hope to get a couple more years out of it. Work has us in the office three days a week, so less mileage on the car.
Well, very odd day... I pulled out the PRM air filter and put the stock air box back in. The PRM was installed around April 2009, so over 12 years. I still had all the parts, bolts & push-pins. And...
I still lurk occasionally. My '08 is still on the road. It's my daily driver (well, sort of giving I've been WFH for a year an a half...). I can't believe it's been thirteen years!
Hey guys, I need to replace my battery... Anyone know if Costco still has 24F batteries? Or can suggestion alternate source?
Title says it all. Looking for air hammer recommendations. Hoping to have a better experience the next time I have to beat on something to get it apart. (Hint: don't miss putting antisieze on the...
You can also use synthetic oil in the engine and transmission. It flows better at cold temperatures, which means less drag from the oil pump, torque converter, etc. trying to push thick oil around....
Stuck thermostat, no. Leaking gasket, maybe. You can get dye that will help pinpoint the exact location of the leak.
As for the lack of heat... probably plugged heater core. You can try having...
Hmmm.... any idea what code is? I'm looking for a not-too expensive third car.........................
Or get a compressor at a salvage yard and pull the coil off of it.
Pulling the fuse for the circuit does the exact same thing without trashing the radio setup or the ECU learning.
As for being lazy: how hard is it to type "you" rather that "u"?
You are probably okay without doing it, but I'd pull the fuse.
Okay everyone, back to your rocking-chairs now!!!!!!!!!!
My 2008 sedan is still going strong... no rust (at least none where I can see it!). Engine pulls good, minimal oil consumption, and I'm still on the factory clutch.
While I really like a new car...
