Re: Need advice/ input to solve my problem

probably about two months, but in miles it is only about 500. I live close enough to work, so I have just been biking (until I get this resolved).

Re: Need advice/ input to solve my problem

Yea, it is hard to really hear it in the video. The noise is identical to what it was before the tensioner was replaced. Rattle may have been the wrong word, it sounds almost exhaust-ish. I may try...

Re: Need advice/ input to solve my problem

I thought it would be difficult, but worth a shot. The motor mounts seem fine, no leaks or tears that I can see.

Re: Need advice/ input to solve my problem

    a) it is coming from the engine bay

    b) the exhaust noise seems like its coming from right up near the engine. it may be the flex pipe, since that is about where it sounds like its coming from

Re: Need advice/ input to solve my problem

@ Skippy- The belts have no cracks or visible sign of wear.

@ Noisy Crow - I was told that he was unable to find the source using a stethoscope, but the screwdriver is a good idea. Whatever is...

Re: Need advice/ input to solve my problem

Exhaust - The vibration does make sense if the flex pipe is cracked. Would you just visually check for cracks?

Rotional - I should have mentioned that the car does not need to be moving, but the...

    Re: which Oxygen Sensor?

I just replaced two of mine (49K miles). The entire job took about 1 hour and 1 tool (a oxygen sensor socket, $15-30). My 2006 has three. Two are accessible from the hood and one from underneath. ...

    Re: Mystery Rattle

Yep, but the engine load would still have the same effect. My thought is that the load torques the engine and the tensioner mechanism is failing... until it warms up and the (spring/ internal...

    Re: Mystery Rattle

Yep. Passenger side. In terms of load, do you mean N vs D? If so, then yes under the load of the transmission is the only time it is heard. Also the cold does make it worse. So you replaced the...

    Mystery Rattle

I am getting a rattle in the engine compartment between 1500 and 2000 rpm. Once the car warms up, it disappears (I assume something expands and snugs up). After looking at some threads, I replaced...
