You didn't ruin anything but your transmission problems have nothing to do with the motor mount.
It it sounds like your transmission is just worn out and needs to be rebuilt.

No, I didn't bother trying. I did go back to the mechanic who did the Saftey but he said that the shocks were fine because they weren't leaking.

It is actually the tires that need balancing, not the rims.
Theoretically, I bet you could note the location of the wheel weights form the stock wheels(relative to the tire) and add the same...
